Cant believe how we havent been given a penalty, their guy grabs hold of Ross and pulls him to the floor, you dont see many as clear cut. Hopefully these things even themselves out but that could have made a huge difference.

The penalty appeal looked nailed-on from behind the goal. The defender was pulling Ross's arm, which was all that stopped him swivelling and unleashing a shot.

I have seen five of the seven league games to date and that was the first time that we have been outplayed. We were poor in the first half but perhaps we should give credit to the opposition as they were excellent. As has already been mentioned in this thread thier number 8 ran the show and also their 6 looked a very strong and quick centre half. We had some players below par - the harder One Joe tried the worse it got for him but he didn't hide and we know he is a quality player who just had an off day.

At least it was good to have some options on the bench at last. Faz and Guthrie, and to a lesser extent Ouani, all made a positive impact when they came on. Despite not being on for that long I would have been tempted to give Faz the motm award? With Beautyman, KHM and maybe one day Cumbers around, the manager will at least have a chance to change systems/formations and rotate players if they need a rest and/or are out of form.

Credit to Kiddy for their first half showing and credit to our boys for not throwing the towel in and putting in a battling performance in the second half. The unbeaten record was always going to go at this level but we just need to repeat the performances in the first six games and we will be fine at this level.

Give it a rest. You're sounding like a Woking supporter.

The one thing I noticed on Saturday was the atmosphere was no where near where it needed to be. It seemed to me that both on the pitch and in the stands we had resigned ourselves to defeat from the first whistle. I really value the support the guys behind the goal give to Welling week in, week out but it seemed to be lacking on Saturday. And I as well take responsibility for not generating a better atmosphere but collectively we need to do better supporting our team from the stands than we did on Saturday.
Saying that, Kiddy were the best team I have seen play Welling this season, with Cambridge not far behind and as Wingnut said it was great to see some options on the bench.

Agreed, it was dire. The under 11s team in the old stand made more noise than anyone else. The volume needs to be cranked up at home, it shouldn't take a belly full of beer to get people up for the game.

When myself and another supporter tried to start the "Oh when the wings" chant with no response, we modified it somewhat to:

Oh when the wings, are not drinking

Oh then the wings won't be singing

Oh when the wings, are not drinking

Then the wings won't be singing
