1. Graham Hobbins

2. Ray Burgess

3. God

Can't really argue with Ransom being in there.

Will have to think about the team for a little while.

I would change Pugh for Terry Robbins

also I would tribute 41/42 unnamed supporters in a Welling in a Hall of Fame? but can see club ever doing that.

Personally feel Daysy should be an absolute shoo-in for the hall of fame for me.

Not only rescued the club from relegation but got us promoted and assembled the best side and coaching staff we've had in years (on a very limited budget).

That's without even mentioning the 200-odd appearances in midfield for us across two spells.

Graham Hobbins, Nicky Brigden and Jamie Day should be shoe ins for what theyve achieved as managers.

Nigel Ransom would be first in for players , not the best player we ever had but a "one club man" in ethos if not strictly true who gave everything over 1000 times., He even went to the play off final supporting us.

Hopefully we induct one or two players every six months rather than loads at once for the sake of it. Its a good idea and hopefully we can have an brown traditional honours board or two like they do at Lords.

Maybe one for hall of famers, one for honours won at Welling, England C/International Caps  and one for hat tricks? (or more) etc going back to when we moved in at PVR?

I can understand why people are saying Day should be manager, but he hasn't achieved what Brigden did - yet. I'm hopeful he will eventually be our most successful manager ever, starting by keeping us in the conference for next season.

Brigden didn't play 200 times for the club though, and Bridgen was manager at a time when we were on the up, Jamie took over in tough times.

Ray Burgess, shoe-in for Midfield.

Bartley, Abbo and Robbins for the 3 strikers.

Dunno why but I have drawn a complete blank for goalie.

I was talking about the best manager, not about their respective playing careers.

Brigden took over when we were in dire straits in the conference, helped us stay in the league season after season, brought us many cup runs and led us to finish as high as sixth in the conference. It's always hard to compare managers of different eras - Brigden was manager when most teams were part time; now us part timers are in the minority, so there is clearly more challenge to staying in the league now.If Day keeps us in this current league for a couple of seasons I'd certainly agree he's our best manager.

Apart from many 1985/86 legends and more recent players, I would have Ruthers.

Manager should be Nicky Brigden as he achieved more than anyone else has ever managed, Jamie may eclipse him one day as a lot of Brigden's success was down to the coaching of Paul Haverson.

Team:

GK Paul Barron

DF Nigel Ransom

DF Duncan Horton

DF John Glover

MF Mike Rutherford

MF Stuart White

MF Lee Clarke

MF Ray Burgess

MF Tony Reynolds

ST John Bartley

ST Gary Abbott

Paul Barron

Loui Fazakerley

Nigel Ransom

John Glover

Duncan Horton

Richie Hanlon

Mike Rutherford

Steve Barnes

Terry Robbins

Danny Kedwell

John Bartley

Loving this thread! Definitely Ransom as his dad took me to my first game and was immense! Nice to see Steve Barnes get a few votes as he was really impressive for us and brought in a good few thousand when sold. Terry Robbins was a legend, so good, as was Abbo. White and Reynolds also legend wings for their skill, strength and difficult times.

I can't decide my final 11!

How can we put it to a vote??

For example BKIAH is going to have a completely different team to an old b****** like me because he won't have seen 90% of the players I have selected??

On the bench -  you must be mad.

Ransom and Burgess are clearly shoo-ins for the Hall of Fame but neither would be in the All Time XI

GK - Barron

RB - Hone

CB - Glover

CB - Horton

LB - Obersteller

RM - Agana

CM - Day

CM - Hanlon

LM - Smith (D)

CF - Abbott

CF - God

Don't care about subs cos that team playing 4-4-2 would get doubel figures most weeks!!

"Big man coming" - how could we ever forget him or that shout he made when going up for a corner!  We need a best 50 players - we have had so many good ones.

Chris Moore did a great job for a long time, but he wouldn't be in the top ten centre halves surely.

How about this, draw up a list of top ten for each position and but it to the vote?

How else do you judge an all-time XI than doing '...a great job for a long time...'?

You're a hard man, Kevin

Is a Hall of Famer the same as a Legend?

For me, any member of the Southern League winning squad and Conference South winning squad or the squad that got to the FA Cup 3rd round would be in the Hall of Fame but that doesn't make them all Legends.

Agana was more exciting in full flight!

Terry Warren! Some blasts from the past I'd forgotten.

I remember the Youth Cup team that played Spurs around that era, some cracking players in that team.

Gawd, I feel old now....

No mention of Rivere yet, and there should have been. Perhaps not in the team, but years of great service, and ability to play at full back, wide midfield and centre mid. A 'first name on the team sheet' for a long long time in the late 90s and early 00s
