Ref not great - odd decisions for both teams. i've no idea where 5 mins injury time came from.

Excellent stuff.

Saw predictions of a 3-0 away win on their forum. Obviously they're not familiar with our home record.

Roll on Saturday

Great performance by the lads, defended well and looked dangerous going forward. Everyone played well but Kurtis was my man of the match again, troubled the full back all evening.

Some great football played tonight, just a shame more aren't there to see it.

Well done lads, onto another tough game Saturday.

Brilliant result for us tonight. Everyone played their part, but Kurtis gets my man of the match too.  The ref gave some strange decisions tonight to both sides, but overall, we were the better team and deserved the win.  Well done boys, keep it up.

It shows just how well the team are playing in that every game there are five or six good candidates for MoM.  My vote tonight would have been for Hudson but Kurtis and Loui were definitely among the contenders too.

Home fans turnout again rather disappointing.  Two really good performances the last two Tuesdays many Wings fans have missed.

The next home game is Barnet so another large away following is likely.  It would be great to see 800 or so Wings fans for this one.  Fingers crossed.

My first game for a few weeks and very pleased with the good solid performance.

I only counted one shot on target from Aldershot who were very fast but didn't create many chances.

Very good performance. It would be good to see crowds grow. Guess about 500 home fans tonight.

Unfortunately I'm still away in France and have had to book annual leave just so I can make the Barnet game. After having a think, I believe the low attendances aren't just because of the high ticket prices but also because average joe no longer works 9-5 Monday-Friday, and this is becoming an increasing trend due to the current economic climate. The fact we've had a ridiculous number/ratio of Tuesday night home games doesn't help either.

A great result tonight, BUT sorry to have a gripe in my first post ....The lack of noise from behind the goal was a bit disturbing. A bit more noise was needed. i know holding on to a one nil lead for 75 mins makes us all a bit nervy and quite, but at times we need to remember we are the home support.

284 from Aldershot, great turn out, I didnt see their players applaud them either.

We deserved the win and could have won by a bigger margin but Butch made another great save late in the game. Kurtis was a nightmare for Aldershot and ran his nuts off. Faz got man of the match and he played really well.

Hard game on Saturday as Macclesfield are hitting form but of we play like we have been playing and work as hard we can go there and get a result.

Jamie said Harry could be out for another week or so as needs to strengthen his leg before he can strike a ball. Doug hopefully back inside a month and is getting treatment with Exeter.

I'd have thought it would be at least a couple more weeks if he isn't even striking a ball yet

I don't know what the exact problem is with Harry, but doing knee slides like in your picture won't help. I always cringe when I see players do that - a sure fire way to get injured.

I've read one of their forums. It seems that they were beaten by our pitch and not by the team. Six inch long grass doesn't suit their Barcelona style football apparently.  Dear oh dear!

You forgot the ones saying the ref was on our side and we had all the luck, they were the funniest ones. Aldershot had 3 or 4 bookings they somehow escaped after bad tackles and the ref gave them lots of very very soft free kicks every time they did their Greg Louganis impressions in our half.

That tackle on Kurtis from behind was 100% at least a booking yet he decided to talk to their players. . Mind you its becoming the norm, there was one on Alex on Saturday when he ran 30 yards to their box and got taken out by the ankles from behind, we didnt even get a free kick. I am beginning to think we should do away with assistant refs in this league, none give a decision and most flag after the ref has given something.

He booked Clarkie for dissent yet he allowed them on several occasions to shout at him

Poor ref yesterday and was far from consistent, luckily it didnt cost us.

Its lovely when these "big" clubs expect to turn up and roll us over then start throwing excuses around. Grimsby blamed the changing rooms but said there is no problem with the surface and now Aldershot fans are blaming the pitch and floodlights. Their manager was so busy berating all 4 officials at every opportunity he had to react to our subs and didnt do anything to change the game pro actively.

Lets hope Barnet blame the wind or the tannoy.

Agreed Polo, MOM could be any one of our midfield or defence, as a team defended well, for me Loui  looked good.

Well at least they came up with a fresh excuse in the grass being too long........hahahaha.

A solid performance although we did give away far too many free kicks in the second half for my liking. Only invites pressure and increases the chances of them scoring with so many set plays.

Good first half performance, great goal and a resolute showing second half. A few of our lads were, unsurprisingly, looking a bit weary towards the end but hung in well.

Can't argue with Faz as motm but thought the back four individually and collectively all did well. I expect the manager was highly delighted with another clean sheet as well.

Macc just found back to back wins but hopefully we can go there and get something and keep this little run going.

There are some funny comments on their forum. Long grass, poor floodlighting, bad ground etc.

I think they're forgetting they still play non league football in non league grounds.

Some very odd comments indeed, one talking about our supposed long ball tactics and moaning that approach didn't work for them!

Not exactly gracious in defeat, are they? If the grass was that long we would not have seen Faz! I think what a lot of these teams do not understand is that Jamie picks the tactics against them. If they are vulnerable to the long ball - and we have people who can play that game well - then we will play that way. If it is a nice wide, billiard table surface - as Aldershot's fans claim theirs to be - then I dare say we will play neat, passing football on it, because we can do that too.

Some credit to Aldershot though - a good following on a Tuesday night and some nice football by their team at times.  Also, if that team has been thrown together in two weeks following their threatened demise, then what a tribute to their manager.  When they gel even more, they will be in the play-offs at least.

The comments about the lights are fair, with the 3 above the new stand switched off. The referee questioned this before the match. Why are they off...is it E& B's electricity or something equally daft? Interestingly, were they on at the start and then went out, the referee could abandon the game!

Don't think much about us being called horrible fans...how do they know given the segregation!!

The Shots fans ALMOST make Woking fans sound like reasonable and fair-minded individuals. There must be something about following football at the Surrey/Hants border.

Superb performance last night. This team doesn't cease to amaze me. Just when you think the Forest Green performance couldn't be matched, back they come and put another great shift in.

Hard to fathom what their manager was arguing with the ref with at the end - I didn't think the ref had that bad a game and got most decisions right.

Scott was looking at his watch which I assume he meant he wasn't happy with the added time?

Where the officials got five minutes from after three subsitutions and no physios on the pitch is beyond me.

It was quite funny watching the Aldershot players encroaching at the free kicks in the bottom corner - must have wasted two or three of those extra minutes doing that!

Scott was pretty cool throughout the game to be fair considering he's managed in the League.

The Grimsby manager has been the worst so far. Ranting and raving and talking utter utter cobblers.

Was no surprised that two weeks later he was sacked....

Ashley Young's brother impressed me when he came on.
