Presumably, no pitch inspection is planned for Saturday - despite a lot of wet weather. Also, it would appear that the pitch has a good chance of being ok because, by my reckoning, it has not been played on for a couple of weeks - unless E&B&Q has had a midweek match.
Daisy had better tell the players not to shake hands with their Lincoln opponents - or wear gloves or apply copious amounts of anti-bacterial hand gel beforehand - they have had a stomach bug this week according to the Imps' forum. Don't want anybody to get the sh*ts - the whole world could fall out of their bottoms if it rules them out of the Luton Cup match!
It is reckoned that Lincoln brought fewer than 70 fans - it would be interesting to have the views of Imps' fans on this. I find it quite incredible that a former Football League side can bring, apparently, quite few fans.
Crowd of 746....looked a fair few more than that I thought
I actually thought it looked less than that. Hard to tell when its segregated and bad weather - stands are fuller than usual but one end is empty.
Thought we played very well in parts today, Gallagher showed fantastic composure for his goal. Alex Dyer was exceptional in the first half and the defence was rock solid - Fraser Franks in particular, my player of the season so far. Lee Butcher also made a couple of excellent saves.
I did think we invited them onto us a bit too much in the last half hour. They were mostly restricted to shots from distance but a more clinical side could have punished us. When Bergqvist came on I would have liked to have seen him go to right-back and Faz push on to support Roscoe, as he did when he scored V Kidderminster. When we tried to relieve the pressure in the closing stages the ball just wouldn't stick up front because of the lack of support.
I know there's been talk here in the last few days that Kiernan needs to grab the bull by the horns and seize the chance when he gets a start. Sorry, but today he wasn't even close to doing that.
Apologies, I obviously misunderstood the away attendance figure (too much Portobello ale!) On reflection, that seems a decent turnout by Imps fans - quite a long way to travel. On the other hand, it is an appalling attendance by Wings supporters considering how well the team is doing. You would have thought that the gate would have been higher for the visit of a former Football League club - just shows how difficult it is to motivate our floating support.
I thought the attendance was disappointing too. There is probably a regular 400 to 450 home support but it does appear that there is a real difficulty in attracting floating/irregular football fans. I don't think that the price to watch football at all levels helps but Jamie, his management team and the players deserve to be showing their talents to a higher audience.
We had a higher attendance than any of the Skrill South games, and the average attendance was down across all the leagues with colder weather setting in, and tighter budgets in the lead up to Christmas.
I think people are getting a bit carried away with attendance estimates, especially for the FA Cup game against Luton. Alot of people predicting attendances of 2000-3000+ are going to be very disappointed. A theoretical opportunity to make a short term profit out of an estimated away attendance of 1000-2000, will turn out to be a missed opportunity to attract potentially 1000s of local new supporters for the long-term.
Seeing as next week is a split gate between us and Luton, do you think they would let us reduce the prices down to £5? Reducing their share in the process? They would have to agree to the reduction which I can't see them doing. While a reduced rate for a game is a good idea, it should be done for maybe a re-arranged Tuesday night game where there would be a smaller gate and little/no away fans.

You could only really do this for cup games otherwise you would put people off buying season tickets. The obvious ones to try the experiment would be early round FA Trophy matches if drawn against lower league opposition.
What's happening with the forum everybody seems to be preoccupied with the attendance figures rather than the match it's self are the boys playing so bad it doesn't merit discussion bring back jgfc at least it's worth logging on then

Not at all. I said that Jamie, his management team and the players deserve to play in front of a higher audience. Seventh in the league and through to the first round of the cup is a very solid start to the season.
Finding a man of the match was not easy yesterday such was the desire and commitment of each and every one of them.

Not at all, I am not pre-occupied with this. It was a good performance by our team, but I think such good performances by Kurtis and his team-mates deserve to be seen by more people, that's all. That way, we can keep our team together and ensure that we have the financial clout to continue to compete in this league.

I am getting slightly peed off with all this talk about reducing prices
We would NOT get a significant increase in the gate to offset the reduction let alone build on it - PLUS we need EVERY penny to enable the ground improvements that are required to be carried out otherwise we may be in a lot of problems!!
We are nearly the cheapest in this league.....In fact I actually thought we would raise prices this year at least a quid higher BUT didnt!!
Like it or not £15 is the level for this league and if we want a team that can compete at this level then thats the cost of having that!!!
The old stand has 500 seats I believe and was, from my vantage point behind the goal in the first half, about 85-90% full.
Therefore are you telling me there were only 150ish people on the terraces (there were about 70-80 on the little terrace between the old stand and the park end in the second half alone)....??
Someone above mentioned budgets and the build up to Christmas effecting attendances. Deary me. If anyone's Christmas is massively hampered by spending £15 on football in the first week of November then I feel sorry for them because they clearly have a very s**t Christmas coming up.
