Really noticable the amount of U16's at the Bath game...just halfway through it and feel *really* old!

Photos, match reports, videos and music from the 1988/89 season;

http://vimeo.com/79343454

This was the year we reached the FA Cup 3rd Round and played Blackburn.

(15 minute video, could have been a lot more!)

if only we got those crowds now but people aren't interested in the non-glamour of non-league football.

Let's get to the 3rd round and get a big home draw and pack out PVR against a Liverpool or Chelsea.......

At home would be nice against a big side although away would be better. A better experience for the players and also the money side of things. I read somewhere recently that Man Utd make £2.7m in ticket sales alone for a home game. If we were to play at Old Trafford we are entitled to half the gate money. That money could not be achieved through a game at home, even with TV coverage.

All ifs buts and maybe's. Got a tough game before we can even start thinking that!

We only get a third of the gate ... a third to each playing team, and a third to the FA.

No we dont, we get 50% of whats left after expenses and match costs, the away team get 50% of whats left.

Gary that is a stunning video, the cuttings and programmes are mint condition and the whole video is superb. I am sure it will even motivate this seasons squad for their cup game.

Fantastic video and thanks for the memories, which was my first season watching at PVR after Bert Ransom took me and paid for my entrance - Nigel ran out on the pitch, found me and gave me a new Welling scarf. Hooked ever since.

God that brought back memories. Time & sense of decency had made me forget the players' mullets!

A video of the Gills & Reading games would be great if anyone has them

Excellent video Gary.  I wasn't around in that era, but have read and heard so many good things about it.

Well done Gary, what great times they were. Thoroughly enjoyed watching your video.

I have a video of the BBC News that was shown on TV on the previous day at 1pm and 6pm, also the BBC News on TV shown on the match day which included the arrival of the Blackburn Rovers team coach at PVR.

Unfortunately, i have not traced where they are stored as yet, but hopefully they can be found very soon.

Glad people like the video. Lots of views and positive comments. I started to keep the press cuttings in pre-season in 88 and had no idea what would happen!

25 years ago now but at the time we had only been going 25 years (even less as a senior club)! Amazing achievement and I think Nicky Brigden has never really got the recognition he deserved.
