Sounds like the ref has succumbed to all the abuse. 2 fouls from Kerr since he was booked - at least one of them described as bad by the Grimsby-loving commentator. No sending off
Excellent, Wings. So near, but for two minutes more time in addition to that officially sanctioned. The Grimsby fans sounded horrendous - as somebody else commented, they seem to think they have a divine right to beat teams of our stature. But our stature is not measured in grounds, attendances and money but in the courage of our players and the guile of our manager.
Every player worked their nads off, thought we had held out, but the ref played the 'play til the home team score rule'. Played at least 3 mins over. Blaine was outstanding for me, won nearly every header.
We kept our shape very well all night and having seen Grimsby twice this season they lack the quality I thought they would have. Their fans celebrated like they won the Champions League....Take the point beforehand, but thought we had the win.
Everyone should watch Wings TV to see Joe's goal. Goal of season job, although a bit elaborate :P
More of that kind of discipline and Wings should be ok.
Healy's goal is just too sexy, It's just too good wait till you see it in decent quality.... Their goal went in just inside the 7th minute of added on time. when board signalled 4.
Highlights, hopefully with commentary as live from Radio Wings by Joe McCrory over the next 48 hours on WingsTV. Jamie Day interview after tonight's game will be Freeview sponsored by WUSA on the official site.
Alex Dyer was selected man of the match by Jamie Day on his final appearance for the Wings (story on official site about Alex leaving us).

Blimey thats a blow about Alex Dyer leaving. He has really put in some great performances this season. Gutted! Good luck Alex. You done us proud. Hope things work out for you.
Well done to my fellow 10 other fellow supporters that sat in the away end at Grimsby, I know the circumstances of playing Plymouth on Saturday put most people off travelling, however you missed a really good game and Welling getting themselves back to the form that took us to the top end of the table. I hope we can get a few more travelling away to some of the up coming games away games, they deserve it.
Firstly you deserved to win last night, we were pretty poor and played nowhere near as good as we have been playing in recent games and although it must have been gutting for your players to concede at such a late stage, I must say that they did bring in on themselves with their constant timewasting at throw-ins, goal-kicks and going down injured after every slight touch late on. If there hadn't been as much timewasting the ref wouldn't have played as much added time.
As for the ref, it was possibly the worst display of refereeing I have seen for a long time and the fact he didn't send off our midfielder, who could well have been given a second yellow on a couple of occasions, just went to show how incompetent he was.
Great goal by your lad though who was playing keepy-uppies before he put the ball in the net, shame there were so few Welling fans to witness it on the evening.
Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season.

I prefer to listen to the BBC commentary from the home side when Welling are away and I can't make it. It offers one of two options, an incredibly bias commentary to the home side that drives me mad, or an honest appraisal of how Welling performed as often any fan will have a touch of the rose-tinted specs when watching their team.
The general view from BBC radio last night was that Grimsby played poorly compared to expectation, and Welling, especially given the miles on the road covered in 72 hours and the fact they mostly work day jobs as well, put in a very strong, battling performance that deserved a minimum of a draw, but had Welling won no complaints could be made by Grimsby.
I'm more than happy to hear that.
Although incredibly unlucky with the outcome of the equaliser so late in the game, the fact we are competing in recent weeks away from home against massive sides like Luton, Grimsby and second-half against Plymouth shows just how far we have come, and we should be massively positive about the on-field prospects in for the rest of the season and not dwell on the disappointment of the 95th minute.

COYWs
I listened to BBC Humberside last night as well and was amused at how in the space of 90 minutes we went from being "not brilliant..." (the pundit) to having certain impressive individuals, building up to an "outstanding" Blaine Hudson.
AAccording to Paul hurst on the bbc sport web site, Saturdays game took a lot out of them...and we only went to plymouth and lost 3-0 (yes he said 3-0). Didn't mention that they were at home Saturday and our lads have travelled from one.side of the.country to another...what a tool!

So harry haddock Grimsby never time waste when they`re 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go. Come on! All teams do it.

Two players were booked in the four minutes of injury time so there was bound to be additional additional time but not another one minute and forty seconds.
A lot of Grimsby supporters moaned at the referee, moaned at the Welling players and moaned at their own players. They might try getting behind their team.
The referee was a late replacement and was awful to both teams.

Their attitude was like they are still in the league.
Biggest bunch of whingers I've heard in ages and can't see them going up for a long while with those players.

I'm not saying that we wouldn't do it in the same situation but it does make it all the more sweeter when your team scores a winner/equaliser in time added on for your opponents time wasting.
