Madness given the segregation we have encountered when taking less than 50 away, that when we play a game against local rivals where there will be 1000s segregation isn't automatic.
I remember when they said the play-off final wasn't segregrated. Then they realised how many Welling fans would be coming, panicked and decided to segregate even though many Welling fans had already bought tickets (without the corner cut out).
Yeah, and put 1000 of us in an end with a limit of circa 700. It was dangerous at Dartford that day. I was getting pushed all over the place, glad I didn't have my son with me.
I think we will have little say as to whether our game against Dartford is segregated - the police could insist on it and that will be it. As for the Dartford drummer, why can't the club just ban all drums at our ground? There is absolutely no reason for the nuisance of drums at PVR, chanting and singing resonates quite well in our ground even without cover behind the goals!
Dartford at pp would only be segregated at police request. To be fair apart from the play off final where it was an obvious sell out from the start I don't remember the last time it was segregated for dartford v welling.

If you recall WUSA instigated a vote on this subject at a member's meeting and somehow the majority had no issue with drums?!?!
Football stadia are not the place for musical instruments whether it be drums at PVR or that ridiculous England band at Wembley.

I think it was the start of last season, was a meeting up in the Exec lounge after a game and the vote was in favour of keeping musical instruments.
Would this happen to be one of the meetings where there were only a handful of people in attendance?
I can see why people would vote to get rid of them, and why others would be indifferent, but can't see why any Welling fan would actively vote in favour of them seeing as we don't use them.

There was enough for a quorum as I recall.
It was not WUSA's decision to make but was going to be presented to the Hobbins as a consensus of Welling fans against musical instruments.
As it turned out, as I recall, most in the room were not that bothered one way or another so, due to the apathy in the room, the matter was not taken any further.
Personally I have asked Barrie senior to ban them but I don't think he is that fussed one way or another and isn't going to ban them solely on my opinion!
From memory some Skrill South clubs (Havant? Sutton?) do have a ban in place....?
I think there were 40 people, so about a third of the membership but people actually voted to keep musical instruments. I was shocked! Anyway, even if it was voted in favour of banning instruments, the club would have to agree to it first.

I'm not disputing there was enough for a quorum (although as I recollect, the constitution was altered last season to make this smaller due to poor attendance at meetings). I'd just be surprised if the outcome is representative of our support base as a whole, given that I've never seen/heard a positive comment about instruments on the forum/the terraces.
Aside from being immensely annoying, they can spur the away supporters into making more noise. Quite a few people on here have complained about away fans getting an advantage by being housed in the new stand, where they can generate more noise. For security/logistical reasons we haven't been able to avoid that, but I can't see any obstacles when it comes to getting drums banned.
It would also avoid any potentially unsavoury incidents in the future, where one of us ends up putting our fist through the drum, and inserting the sticks into the drummer.
On s more important matter, I know that the Bear & Ragged Staff in Crayford opens at 11am on the day, but does anyone know what time the pubs in Dartford open?

I am sure one of the computer savvy members of this forum could instigate a poll to get a wide opinion. I would try myself but have no idea where to start.

Do they charge for parking at PP and anyone have any idea how quickly it fills up. Don't want to get there and have nowhere to park.
Do not park in their car park unless you can leave 10 minutes early to get out. It's a nightmare. The 96 from Welling will take you to Dartford and it's a 15/20 minute walk from the town centre, stopping in a few pubs on the way.
For anyone not fancying the walk up the hill from the town centre, Fastrack B buses will be leaving Home Gardens (outside Dartford Station) where you can get off the 96 bus at 14 and 44 minutes past the hour.
