Better in the second half than the first. Good shifts by McLaren and Cumbers. Guthrie looked a bit off the pace. Cumbers had a good chance for what could have been the winner. Dartford fans went mental at the end thinking they had a goal in the 93rd minute, suggesting it crossed the line...be an interesting replay. A good point considering form means nothing in Derbys. 4 points out of 6 off the Darts is something to be proud off. On to Hyde on Tuesday night..let's hope we don't give them their first win of the season. COYW!
I'm sorry but that was pathetic a decent turnout of fans but shame the welling players didnt bother turning up apart from a 10min spell 1st half when we scored :(.
Why we only ever play one up front is beyond me we were playing dirtford not friggin real madrid......... we are so negative and why do we keep playing kurtis on the wing when he is the only one with pace and ability to hold the ball up (with ross) and to actually be a threat uptop even more so when ross went of injured :( If we keep playing a 451 I can only see us becoming draw specialists and grabbing 3 points if we lucky cmon jamie lets start growing some balls and actually take it to them we made dirtford look good tonight lol one last thing Dirtford shove that drum up your harris <3 :)
A game bereft of much quality from either side. Even against Hyde, we need to be better if we want 3 points.
The major positive for me was Luis Cumbers who stretched the game with his pace, but its no good pinging long balls up to him - on that note, lets hope Roscoe's injury isn't too serious. I didn't see what happened as I was too busy being fat and getting a burger, but he didn't look quite right tonight. Healy grew into the game the longer it went on, but boy do we miss Obersteller bombing forward to provide some width.
Really bad game but with players out and Dartford looking better than Boxing Day I will take a point.
Ref had a poor game ( I'm still puzzled how he booked Curtis but let loads of others go (ours included).
Agreed. The refs in this league have been bloody awful. He was bad for both sides las night..was always the wrong side of a challenge and just guessed.
Definately take a point after a performance llike that. We seem to have forgotten our passing game. When we played it tight through midfield we showed quality. Got it to wide areas, never produced a single decent cross and lost possession. Missed Blaine's aerial threat last night.
Positive was Loui back and Connor did well.
*Really* need a striker....pray Rosco recovers asap.
I heard a couple of Dartford supporters saying it was quite a good game (independently) which perhaps shows what they are used to. I also heard someone at the station telling his wife that it wasn't a great advert for the Skrill Premier, which was a bit of an understatement and he couldn't imagine returning. Pity that we put on one of our worst performances for our biggest gate.
Yes, they looked very rusty. A shame. Another point towards safety though, and frankly, if Dartford can't get a win against us on a poor showing you do wonder where they are getting their points from. I didn't want to tempt fate before the game with them, but for me, they are down already. I reckon they need 30 points from 19 games. So maybe 8 wins and six draws. Not happening.
Interesting to note that Dartford fans were not particularly happy with the referee, which would suggest that he was consistent. However, if you re-examine the first ten or fifteen minutes of the match there were at least four challenges by Dartford players which would have merited a yellow card. I told my pal he should place a bet that the first, and next, serious challenge by a Wings player would be yellow-carded - and lo and behold. Also, why should Ross Lafayette have to endure pushing, shoving, kicking and elbows every match? Yes, I know he is a tough player, but why should he have less protection from referees than anybody else on the pitch? Fair enough if players use their body strength to protect and shield the ball and possession, but kicking, shoving etc are fouls and should be given as such.
It seems the Fartford mob thought it was a good game and that they played well. Jesus! If thats them playing well god help them. They're celebrating their point as if they've Won a trophy. Open top bus running through Fartford later I hear!

Apparently Connor kicked it off the line, Jamie put it out for a corner but clattered from behind. Not a classic, but think it's not easy at the moment. Some are coming back, others are injured so there is no chance for a settled side. Jake is apparently 2-3 weeks and is a huge loss, and Loick is 6 weeks away. We are still edging towards the 50 point mark and will get there, but maybe not as soon as some people thought. Stay positive
A couple of injuries and we're starting to struggle. We just lack the depth in squad that clubs with bigger budgets have the luxury of. Hopefully we can grind out results in January and edge ever closer to safety. We need to up our game for Hyde, who might get some confidence today if they can muster anything against a poor Southport team.
Anyone get a clear view of the melee at the end? The manager hobbled off like he'd been shot, so presume he saved it on the line?
Will be in highlights, Great defending by Healy and McLaren who blocked it on the line and Jamie cleared it for a corner but was on the end of a quite awful challenge from behind that seemed to connect with his achilles, probably a red card as it was wreckless, dangerous, from behind and not nice, but he gave them a corner. We had that ref for Salisbury at home and google is not his friend.
Interviews and 18 minutes highlights should be up mid evening

Injuries, and nasty ones at that, do seem to be building up and threatening our attempt to reach the alleged 50 points safety target. I know we have to be careful with money, but unless we bring in some strategically important loan players (midfield/striker) we are in danger of struggling against teams near the bottom of the table, let alone the pacesetters.
Incidentally, the Kentish Football website report on last night's match implies that Cambridge United were only willing to let Andy Pugh go to Dartford. What is the rationale behind that - is it purely the fact that Dartford would be playing Luton shortly? They are also playing Cambridge this month, and neither Pughy nor the centre back will be allowed to play. If this is a current trend, perhaps Luton will loan us a striker or two when we play Cambridge United?

I like your thinking but the only two decent strikers Luton have are Paul Benson and Andre Gray, neither of whom's wages we can ever afford.
I think there's a stronger likelihood of us getting a freebie towards the end of the transfer window. I know times are hard but it's quite shocking how many players were released by their clubs over Christmas.
A very poor showing, particularly given the good attendance.
Connor McLaren's performance was a bonus and it was good to see Loui back. Rosco's injury, however, is a big worry. We looked clueless going forward in the second half. I do hope that if Ross is out on Tuesday that Day looks at switching to 442 with Cumbers and Guthrie upfront.
Also I was a little disappointed that Hughes-Mason did n't come on. Don't get me wrong, I don't rate him (he's neither strong nor brave enough for this level) but if we are n't going to put him on for the last 5-10 minutes when we are playing that badly then when is he ever going to play? Unless he's hanging around for the money then a mutual parting would surely be best for both parties?

It was a disappointing game which neither side deserved to win. I thought our two centre backs and Maclaren played well and Healy and Beautyman tried to get things going in the second half without any joy. Roscoe was clearly suffering after an early knock and I hope keeping him out there for 40 odd minutes didn't make the injury worse......we basically played three quarters of the game without any threat up front. I realise Luis Cumbers isn't up to speed but he needs a month away at a lower level to get match fit - he didn't stretch the centre halves once and, when he got his chance, he looked nervous and fluffed it. Might seem a bit harsh but he is not (yet) a back up striker at this level for me.
We need some fresh impetus from somewhere. Good to see Faz back but Obo and Gallagher badly missed (as is Dyer) and, without Roscoe, we look very lightwight up front.
