I realise Luis Cumbers isn't up to speed but he needs a month away at a lower level to get match fit - he didn't stretch the centre halves once and, when he got his chance, he looked nervous and fluffed it. Might seem a bit harsh but he is not (yet) a back up striker at this level for me.
We need some fresh impetus from somewhere. Good to see Faz back but Obo and Gallagher badly missed (as is Dyer) and, without Roscoe, we look very lightweight up front.
Day says in his programme notes that he was considering loaning out Cumbers to a lower league club but has decided to keep him at the club to build up his fitness. I agree with you though Wingnut- a few games and goals at a club like VCD will do him good. But to do that we will need a new loanee striker ourselves.

I think the problem for Cumbers other than match fitness and sharpness is that he's not a back to goal lone striker. He'd be better as the second of two forwards or in our system wide right. In the absence of Pires who could attempt the role or someone new perhaps Guthrie could have a go in the middle even though he had some joy out wide in the Dartford game.
Am concerned how poor going forward and uncreative we've become in the last two home games. Our system is more cautious these days maybe this is necessary at this level but not against all opponents surely. More support for the lone forward required from out wide and midfield. Absentees haven't helped particularly attacking play from full back.
Important opportunity tomorrow night and no room for complacency especially if without Roscoe.
Hopefully Kurtis gets a go in the central striker role tomorrow. It's supposedly his preferred position and he's the only player fit who can offer an aerial threat.
If KHM is going to play any significant part in the rest of the season, then tomorrow is as good a time as any to throw him in.
Squad down to the bare bones and from what I remember of the away game, their left-back is absolutely atrocious - get running at him at pace! If we can't make use of Kiernan against Hyde, then its pointless having him.

Blimey....I think we agree on something!
We were wondering why Guthrie wasn't given at least a try down the middle with Cumbers wide during the second half. Also KHM might have got fifteen minutes to have a go on the wing with Kurtis down the middle.
Earlier this season when all our players were fit I felt we were one wide player (left or right) away from being a very decent team at this level.
It seems the Fartford mob thought it was a good game and that they played well. Jesus! If thats them playing well god help them. They're celebrating their point as if they've Won a trophy. Open top bus running through Fartford later I hear!

As a dfc fan we are pleased were not as bad as we have been that's all. We know we are a poor side. We are pleased our dismally run of ten losses in a row is over no one is celebrating anything. I like most have no doubt we will go down and have done for a short while. I am not one of those fans who want to see the other relegated as I enjoy the games. All you will have next year is bromley. As for dartford fans complaining was because Mr. Day spent the entire game shouting and moaning at the referee and his dive in the 2nd half annoyed a few. When he went down in front of us though he probably was hurt it was the accumulation of before that the darts gave him stick. The most one sided referee performance seen in a long time only enhanced when he blew the whistle for full time when it was our corner with 30seconds left. Your player blomqist (I appreciate that is wrong spelling) shouting at dfc fans `come on then, come over here, come on then` while giving it the come on gestures with his hands. Very brave considering no one was going on the pitch and getting nicked but he could of gone to the fans and chose not to yet give it the come on. All this is the passion of derby football passion from both sets, never got out of hand, your lot give our players stick too. No celebrations, we know we're ****, we know we're going down but we won't give in.. yet.

There were 8 seconds left if you want to be precise. I was sitting next to a Dartford reporter with a stopwatch. The ref probably blew up realising that he should have given Welling a free kick for your bloke going through Jamie Day from behind as he cleared the ball. Neither manager thought the referee was one sided but neither thought he gave everything right.
To clarify things 100% factually he blew up after 3 minutes and 58 seconds of added time with the ball having just gone out and no way Dartford would have got the ball, gone to the corner flag and taken the kick within 2 seconds.
He got stick for his performance but blew up quite correctly.

Doug Bergqvist.
Hahahahaha - he gets my vote for Player of the Year for that!!
But you are right - entering the field of play is a definite no no and shouldn't be tolerated under any circumstances

Again lets be absolutely factual here... Doug was leaning over Jamie after a bad tackle and approximately 4 or 5 Darts fans came up to the hoarding and leant over and were shouting and "waving their fingers" at Doug and Jamie...
I can only congratulate Doug for not rising to what looked like awful abuse about 5 yards away from him.
You's have thought/hoped the stewards would be a little more useful. Also, where were the police? A local derby with a larger than usual crowd on a Friday evening will attract more morons than a normal Saturday 3pm game.
I do hope the t**t with the drum was involved and gets whats coming to him one day soon.
There were police in the ground, I watch them enter on about 15-20minutes. How long they stayed for I don't know. All the same, stewards are paid to steward. I saw little of it on one of the rare occasions it was required.

Not sure he should be offering the fans out. Gesturing with his hands saying come on then come here. You want to be factual well I was right there ( not waving my fingers about) not excusing anyone and don't think either fans are worse than the other you lot give as good as you get. Not sure what the drummer did wrong other than play the drum. Badly.
