I wasn't there tonight and I'm not going to join in with the general downbeat theme except to say it's been coming.

Why?

Because we never have a 'knock' that keeps a player out for one or two games;  they are always out for weeks,  months or even years. Look at the recent/current roll call of the walking wounded:

Jack Obersteller - two months and counting

Faz - six weeks

Pires - how many weeks before it turns out he's broken his leg?

Gallagher - four weeks on Saturday and counting

Bergqvist - months

Tatman's been in and out like a yo-yo

Lafayette has had one lengthy lay-off with presumably another to come while we work out what's wrong with him

Then there's Cumbers and McLaren - serious injuries no doubt but 14 months and 12 months?

And last but by no means least Harry "he'll be back next week" Beautyman.

Before you start calling for new players, how about a medical team that can correctly diagnose and then provide the appropriate treatment to get the players we have got back on the pitch.

Agreed. Injuries happen, but with a small squad and a small budget, prolonged and unnecessary absence is not helpful.

I've always wanted to have a look in Dave Lawson's medical bag. I suspect it contains nothing but a jar of leaches

The effort required in trying to match full time players taking its toll on part time ones?

Proper medical attention requires serious money.

One forward for one position in our formation! If alternatives cannot double up and play wide (Pires/Cumbers) then they'll be on the bench when Roscoe is fit which wouldn't appeal to quality back ups.

If, and its a big if, we managed to get another quality centre forward in then there's no reason Ross couldn't play in one of the wide forward positions if required. Has the necessary work rate, pace and trickery, and when he has drifted wide in games he's proven he can whip some fantastic crosses in. I know that might not be the best use of his individual talents, but the team as a whole may benefit.
