Safe to assume we don't need to update your other thread with this news? wink

Welcome to Welling, Harry

Website not working for me for some reason.

But the Bournemouth site describes him as a winger rather than a forward.

Mention it quietly, but I think Eddie Howe has sent us another gem.  Obviously, Baily did very well here and Josh looks like he will too.  There must be a hell of a load of good young players at Dean Court - and quite a number of them are being put on long contracts.

Welcome Harry, and well done Jamie.

If only we could get the same arrangement with Charlton and Millwall that we have with Bournemouth, we'd be laughing.

We've clearly got the relationship of sorts with Charlton given the pre-season friendly each year. They must be able to slip us a player or two as well surely.

www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/10705193.AFC_Bournemouth__Cornick_looks_a__real_talent__says_boss_Howe/

CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe believes local lad Harry Cornick could have a bright future after a promising start to his Dean Court career.

The teenage winger made the huge leap into the professional ranks during pre-season after being snapped up by Howe from Wessex League outfit Christchurch.

Cornick has caught the eye since he was handed an 18-month deal by Howe after impressing the Cherries manager during a trial spell with the club last term.

The youngster finished the campaign with Priory and linked up with Cherries in the summer after finishing A-levels in biology, psychology and physical education.

Cornicks progress with Cherries was impressive enough for Howe to give the wide man a shock call-up to the bench for the Championship clash with Blackpool.

The former Poole Grammar School student, who was also understood to have attracted interest from Stoke City, Southampton and Fulham during his stint in non-league, continued his form by netting for the development squad in their midweek Under-21 Premier League Cup defeat at the hands of Plymouth.

And Howe hopes there is more to come from Cornick. The Cherries manager told the Daily Echo: We are really pleased with Harry.

We said when he came in that it was a huge step up for him. But he is one of the development players who has really excelled in every game I have seen.

He has been positive, very direct in possession and he looks like a real talent who is progressing all the time. We are really pleased with him.

The reason he was involved in the first team and on the bench was a reward for his performances so, hopefully, that will continue.
