Looking forward to a good night tomorrow - memories (some sad), celebration and meeting former players; a night when the Wings "family" can truly be united. Let's not forget that but for Sid Hobbins and his sons we would not have had a Welling United in the first place.
Looking forward to Saturday night but I do have one concern, does anyone know if Da Peppino has got decent beer in or is it just fizzy lagers? I don't drink wine and can't drink fizzy beers due to a long standing medical condition.

Just a reminder about tomorrow, the doors will be open from 7pm and we would ask that everyone is seated by 7.30pm as that's when the starters will start being served.
Tomorrow should be a cracking night with the look back over the years, some video's, a band, a comedian and the chance to mix with some current players and legends from the past.
Final thing about tomorrow is that 100% of the profits from the evening are being split between the 2 charities. MIND, and the children's oncology department at QE hospital. Please bear this in mind and give generously to the raffle and auction and let's help give these charities some much needed funds.

Welling United FC. Banging on the walls of Woking dressing rooms since 1963..
Players coming from Lincoln, Peterborough, Newcastle etc plus Stuart White's family... to celebrate 50 years (15 of those years in the top non league division). What was nice is that on teh mic and in the interviews the past players paid tribute to Jamie Day and the current squad... very classy of them.
The club as a whole pulled off an amazing night and raised several thousand pounds for the Childrens Oncology unit at QEII hospital and Mind the mental health charity.
Over the next couple of home games there will be a DVD of all of tonight's videos and montages and the hilarious Adger Brown doing the auction plus in depth interviews with Terry Robbins and Mark Hone on why Welling means so much to them and on their memories of the club.
ALL Profits from the DVDs will go to tonight;s two charities and we've already had many ask for the DVDs.
You don't have to order the DVDs they will be in the club shop sometime over the next two home games.
Paul White (tonight and in the run up) and his Anniversary Dinner organising committee played a blinder.
What a fantastic evening, the organisers did a wonderful job and the event was well supported. It was great to have the owners, the players, and the supporters all enjoying an evening together. Well done to you all.
Just to say a big thank you to everyone involved. It was a fantastic night and great to mingle with players past and present and friends at the club.
Also a big thank you to the Hobbins family. Smuch that I have done in my footballing life would never have happened without them giving me a chance to get involved with the club at various levels when I was a teenger and also putting my name forward when opportunities have come up for reporting.
That has given me the confidence to get involved in so many other things away from football as well and it is never forgotten.
I have met so many great people at Welling and other clubs as well through my involvement and would encourage any youngster who loves football but maybe doesn't have the ability to play at a high level get involved in 'your' club even if it's not Welling.
What a great night, that is why without the supporters there is no club. It was great to see some of the past palyers and everyone looked like they had a great time.
Hi now recovered fully need to say a big thank you to Tracey, Les, Dean. Paul, Tom, Matt plus anyone else I have missed for all your hard work behind the scenes to put on such a good event.
Well Done.
