Chris Powell sacking and how we could capitalise....

Interesting to see on the Charlton forums and in the comments sections of news websites that many Charlton fans are considering boycotting the club, with a few heading our way....

If anyone knows any Charlton supporters try and drag them to tonight's game.

I wouldn't mind some normal fans, but half the comments on that forum are just deluded! Let them worry about their own club.

I have to say some of the posts from their anoraks and train spotters have had me in stitches:

"Let's protest..." "Yeah! Let chant Chrissy Powell's Red, White army!..." Bless 'em.

interestingly the two mates I've managed to convince to come to more games this season are Millwall fans, who are obviously having a torrid time as well.

A bigger concern to me is will the new Belgian owners respect the tradition of bringing their first team to PVR for the pre-season curtain raiser?

Charlton normally play us because they think they're guaranteed a morale boosting win. If they choose not to play, it'll be because they know we've got a better squad than them.

It would be good if we could have a pre-season schedule with all the main London teams like we had two seasons ago (Arsenal, West Ham, Palace, Millwall and Charlton)...

On another note, according to a mate that went to the Charlton game last night they had less than 10,000 in the ground despite the official attendance of 11,000+ (probably counted season ticket holders that didn't go). Looks like the boycotters kept their promise...

Let's try and get as many friends and family down to PVR on Saturday as we can. Especially if they're Charlton fans ;-D
