Hyde have gone and Tamworth look fairly certain to go. The remaining two places are wide open. I wondered who people would like to see go with them.
I had a very good weekend in Southport when we played there and hope to repeat it. Due to a birthday party I was unable to go to Chester. It is a lovely city though and I would love to go there next season. Controversial though I'm sure it will be on this forum, I hope Dartford stay up. It guarantees money in the coffers from two big gates and is surely the best club to play at Christmas and New Year for reasons of both attendances and ease of travel.
So sorry Aldershot and Hereford but you have to be my choices. Others will no doubt disagree.
I think most of us hope Dartford go.
Hereford are in freefall, so I expect them to go down, leaving the last relegation spot for Dartford, Chester or Aldershot.
Who we hope to go down and who will aren't the same thing of course.
Chester's ground is a hole in the middle of nowhere, but the town is lovely and would welcome a chance to go back. Aldershot is a dump. Dartford, well, just don't like them. Hereford, never been.
It looks like its Hereford, Tamworth, Hyde and one other. I'd like it to be Dartford, but its looking less likely than a few weeks ago that it will be. Aldershot to stay up given better goal difference.
If Dartford stay up it will bring increased competition for signings and with their greater financial power that wouldn't be good news. I would quite happily forsake Kent derbies for a freer run at players leaving the Football League on free transfers.
I know that people will argue against it and I understand that but if Portsmouth come down it will more than compensate and Northampton would bring a reasonable following if it's them that join Torquay who look certs to be back next season.
Portsmouth have just changed their manager...the speed and depth of their decline is remarkable. Were they do drop, a Saturday home fixture alone could offer some financial stability to clubs like Welling.
