Still here, I'm afraid. Just letting our sad yet ultimately predictable relegation sink in. No arguments here - we got what we deserved this season. We've been pants (but that's what you get for playing without a striker). We've been down since the new year but kept delaying the inevitable for as long as possible. Congrats on your relatively successful season. You can be rightly proud of your side's efforts against the big boys. Just hope that with us and Luton gone (thus taking the £30-40,000 in extra revenue that those fixtures generate) you can continue to survive on sub-500 gates. Just remember to keep paying those tax bills, mind.
As Dame Vera put it, we'll meet again ... although I fear that the next time will be in the Connie South at best.
I am not like most welling fans I didnt want dartford relegated (enjoyed going over there new years day)as I like all the local derbys and dartford only 1 bus ride away for me the drum is annoying though lol. Anyways hope to see your mob again asap I wish you luck Penguin and feel your pain best regards BigDave

Enjoy the summer everyone!
You'll come back stronger, however, I feel Burnham being manager and a director is working massively against you. He was unsackable as a result. Had he been sacked or resigned in Nov-Jan then you might have faired much better. Despite a good run late Feb through March it was too much to do, and too little too late.

Big Dave,
Please see me after the Southport game.
This "I didn't want D******* relegated" and " I wish you luck....." stuff must be nipped in the bud NOW. You are a Welling fan and this sort of attitude will not be tolerated.
So what if i'm a welling fan I still didnt want dartford relegated I like all the local rivals and they make much better games to watch and much better atmospheres imo.
Please see you after the Southport game? What do you want me to do call out here wingnut wingnut wingnut and see who answers lol?
Yours sincerely BigDave
Only joke I have seen last few days was our defending 1st 20 mins yesterday --.-- Still wish Dartford stayed up ^_^ And I really want bromley to get promoted as would be another gr8 rivalry and local trip :)

I agree. I don't feel the animosity to Dartford that many do on this forum but then I would struggle to dislike another team as much as I do Woking.
With Dartford relegated, who could be our Boxing Day & New Year opposition - maybe Andrew's worst nightmare - Spending Christmas with Woking?
Could be worse morph, you could get sent to Braintree!! For us there's a good chance we'll have the train station down the road for our Xmas/NYD fixtures but whereas Welling can still enjoy trips to the likes of Wrexham, Cambridge, Grimsby, Lincoln, Southport etc. we'll be enduring the delights of Farnborough, Basingstoke, Staines, Concord Rangers, and ..... Boreham -effing-Wood
Suddenly that Woking fixture doesn't sound that bad now, does it?
HI King Penguin, your Right, it could of been a lot worse, who knows where we would be playing, had fellow welling fans had not rallied round and loaned the club money to pay a tax bill. and since then for me every game and the places I have visited have been a welcome bonus and long may it continue.
And yes there could be worse fixtures than Xmas and NYD than Woking. however I want to point out that The first part of my comment was a genuine question thrown out for a debate - the Woking part of the comment was meant as "tongue in cheek banter" with The Court Jester.
Personally I hope the two clubs can have a pre season friendly and hope you have a successful 214/15 campaign so we can have local derby matches and all the friendly banter that comes with it.

I think it will only be right and proper to have a pre-season friendly with D*******. It's good for the lower league teams to play against superior opposition. We could all be comfortably located behind the goal, just like during the play-offs and watch them parade in front of us reminding us just how great they are.
I have noticed from reading other teams message boards before and after we play them that the ex league teams have NOT slagged our ground at all......never mentioned it even when they lost
Luton for example had great words to say about their day at PVR

Grimsby's management complained about the changing rooms, pitch facilities etc. but the supporters of nearly all the former league clubs that I have met have been great.

Salisbury and Woking, on the other hand........
Ah yes, the same Grimsby who then proceeded to "improve" the facilities by sticking a brick through the changing room windows?

Probably because we let their fans run riot on our pitch...

don't have a problem with them doing that
we did a mini one at Boreham Wood last year and is was only because of some knobby steward that the moment was soured
