As I put on an earlier post I'll start a new topic so that the other one doesn't divert.
Sometimes i Feelits better for players not to return as they seem to be remembered for past glories.
Also the team the player returns to has changed and so has the style of play. - (Faz, Healy and Jamie the only ones the club has from Pughy's time at the Wings)
Not being a wings follower as long as others are there any players that have returned and done better or just been average or worse.
I'll Start a new topic on that.
First on that comes to my mind
Loick Pires -- Just wasn't the same player he had his moments but sadly it didn't work out for him.
I believe Ben Greenhalgh returned? Albeit very briefly. Huge talent, just a shame he chooses to live off his reputation and chase the £ notes
Wasn't he on loan at Stenhousemuir - do they pay big money?
I think he's been signed/on trial/on loan with pretty much every club in Britain. My point being he could have quite easily done well at our level, got some experience for a season and moved onwards an upwards. Instead of that he's tried to fast-track himself by moving to whichever club can offer him the most dosh or boost his profile. Arrogance has rightly been rewarded with stagnation.
John Glover. Think he may have gone to Dover, but whoever it was he re-signed before the start of the following season without playing a League game for his new club.
Also Kevin 'Sooty' Corbett who left us in the Athenian League and returned for a spell in the Southern Premier. Was actually captain in the first Welling game I ever attended as Ray Burgess was in the middle of a nine match ban - a fairly regular occurence in his early career.
