Oh dear, did we know he was banned when we signed him?  And, if not, why not? Terrible news about Charlie Penny.  I wonder whether Ross will come back to us for a short-term loan - it does not look as though he will feature in Luton's on-field team initially, apart from the bench (which I find a criminal waste).  If he bangs a few in for us it could reinforce his claim for a starting place. We certainly need somebody who has presence and can hold the ball up.

I don't know where this "Roscoe won't get a game for Luton" school of thought comes from, a few mentioned it on the terraces yesterday. He's had gametime in pre-season, and if you look on Luton's forum there are a lot of positive comments about him:

"I've only seen Lafayette twice but I thought he looked excellent against Antwerp"

"Lafayette, Rooney and Wall are all pressing their cases to start in pre-season"

"IMO Lafayette seems the natural replacement for Gray"

Frustrating news.

This isn't schoolboy or park football. We're in a league with more full-time than part-time sides. If we sign a player and it turns out they have a ban carried over that hasn't been picked up by the club, but the player must be aware of given they earn a living from football and are grown men, that player should do the decent thing and own up to it from the outset. If it transpires they have withheld it I hope they are treated with the contempt they show the club and their new manager.

Anyhow, we are light up front, look forward to seeing who Jamie brings in. We used the loan market very, very well at centre-half last year, need the same at the other end of the field this year it seems.

Oh, and can we stop all the Lafayette chat. He doesn't play for us anymore. Get over it.

Luton aren't going to sign him and then loan him out immediately.
We can't afford his new wage.
Luton are full-time, we aren't.
There, done.

Millwall have a young forward (Fred) who made an impact last season and whom they may be prepared to loan out short-term. They also have Marquis on the fringes. Most certainly someone is needed for a month. Cannot believe the research was not done regarding the suspension.
