The first half was ok I suppose, but that must have been one hell of a half time team talk, as we out played Braintree in the second half and deserved the win :) \o/
First half was a bit lacklustre, second half fantastic. We played with more width going forward which meant things weren't so congested in the centre of the park, allowing us to spray some excellent passes around with quite a few coming from young Sam Corne. Also thought Sho-Silva was a real threat with his pace and jumping ability. I'd been enquiring about him for a few weeks and am delighted we've got him back. Psychologically a massive boost to get our first win on the board, let's hope its the turning point. COYW
WOW loved every minute of that 2nd half was awesome the gaffer must of given them a rocket at half time for sure. Not seen us as dominant as that since we come back last game of the season and won 4-3 in the 2nd half we looked gr8 and I hope we will play like that from the start seems to be a welling thing we only seem to turn up in the 2nd half when shooting towards the road some really good performances tonight and the passing would not of been out of place in the championship. I worried that Mr day did not play but as always he seems to know whats best already cant wait till next tuesday home to Lincoln COYW
Yes, that 2nd half was very good indeed. If we play like that regularly we will be ok. Although the crowd was small (506) it responded and the atmosphere was good in 2nd half. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Great second half performance - if we can build on that and play like that consistently then we will be okay. After tonight the players now know and proved to themselves that they can play well.
I'm wondering what Jamie says to the team before the match that differs from what he says at half time. Maybe he needs to have a go at them more or something!
First game I've been able to get to this season. Cracking game.
There seems to be a good team spirit. At 1-0 down in the first half and no wins in the first seven you might expect a few heads to drop. But there was nobody throwing their arms in the air or whining about misplaced passes after falling behind again. And every outfield player seemed to pile on top of Bush with in a couple of seconds of his goal.
You could see then lift that goal gave them. Welling were excellent second half, and played some really nice stuff in the fifteen minutes after the equalizer particularly. They thoroughly deserved the win, and that bit of luck with the deflection that canoned back off the cross bar at the end.
Looking forward to the next one. COYW.
Oh and nice sports bar.

Much needed win and pleased to say a deserved win. Thought that we as supporters didn't get behind the team in the first half and sometimes that is what is needed to get a little more out of some players. Once again Harry covered every blade of grass, was my MOM and good to see that we looked more of a threat up top.

A very welcome three points and very well deserved too.
Best game I have seen Fagan have so far and the midfield three really got stuck into the game second half as did Fyfield who was a revelation playing in an unfamiliar role. Still need to tweak things up front in my opinion. I would have liked to have seen TSS play down the middle more - both Nouble and Marsh wanted an extra touch or to try a trick when a simple pass or shooting chance was there.
Motm for me would have to be Sam Corne. For twenty minutes in the second half he ran the game and for an 18 year old at this level it was a great performance. Clearly it is a long season and a real mental and physical challenge for him but I am sure the management team are well aware of that so they might have to pick and choose games for now. But with the manager and Joe Healy as well we are quite well stocked in midfield.
Well done Wings. A splendid performance - and, as has been mentioned by Wingnut, a masterstroke by Daisy and the management team to put Jamal Fyfield in midfield where he was superb. Jamal could do a great job in an "enforcer" role - as well as protecting the likes of Sam Corne. There are other possibilities too (which is where I incur the wrath of Wingnut) such as moving Harry B. into an attacking role alongside either Tobi or Jon (he played in that position for Sutton United quite a few times); Zach Fagan could play up top if needed or behind the front two; Chris Bush could play in midfield. Just stressing that many members of our squad can do superb jobs in roles other than in those in which they play regularly.

Thank you Mr Hodgson for your input
Square pegs in round holes is not the answer as well as Fyfield did last night.
The reason Beautyman is doing better this season is probably because he is fully fit and not suffering injuries like last season but mainly because he is more involved in an attacking midfield role and that's why he is getting chances - playing him up front would be a massive waste. I was critical of him last year but he has been the stand out player for me thus far. Even when things are not going his way his effort and commitment are never in doubt and he his getting his rewards. If anyone could get pushed further forward it might be Healy as he has the ability to pick a pass and also score a goal or two.
As has been said by others, a great performance during the second half and a well deserved win over a strong side. Bush was like a man possessed, I liked the way he changed from being a center half to a center forward. I was concerned about us getting caught on the break with him up front. For me, I too thought Sam Corne put in a good shift along with Sho-Silva, who I thought was man of the match. On top of which Jamal and Baselle who brought added spice to the game. Also, well done to JT who pulled off a fantastic save towards the end. All in all a great effort and a joy to watch. Well done.
