With other clubs (sadly) in trouble , the Wings boosted by the signing of 3 quality additions will have morale boosted, Adie Pennock has sounded out a battle cry that the Play Offs are what he demands. Great Chance for the Wings to kick in the turbo and stake their claim for a possible Conference National spot wth morales dented and future uncertain at 2 of their main rivals. Its been a great week for the Wings, now finish it in style.
Updates in this thread during the game. All thoughts welcomed. I fancy us to win 2 or 3-0
Come on You Wings.

Pennock said in the paper that Basingstoke are a lot better than when we played them earlier in the season, but surely the form guide is right on this one...
Wings unbeaten at home in 11 league games, surely three points in the bag? I think the new guys are going to add a new dimension today - Stadhart starting on the bench for me, and wings finally putting a few chances away. Wings to win 3-1.
I thought John Guest done well, stepped into Mooro's shoes nicely - Mooro looked to be stretching his hamstring alot, so I assume that's why he sat it out.
Hector Mackie came on the for the last 15 and looked pretty quick and eager, although perhaps a little nervous. Hard to tell on this performance but certainly looks promising.
Not sure where Jim Corbett was - not even on the bench...
Overall I thought we played well, and were certainly the better team. 3-1 would have been the fairer scoreline, although their second was gifted by Jamie Turner. Cross came in, calmly collected by JT above his head but it just slipped out into the path of a Basingstoke player. Fortunately JT doesn't make these mistakes often :o)
Nice to see some more goals for us - hopefully we can start getting some momentum and start winning games by 2 or 3 goals.

Welling boss Adrian Pennock spoke of his delight at the signings.
He said: "John Guest is a young and capable player who I have been watching for some time. I am sure he has the ability to perform at Conference South level.
"Jimmy isn't match fit yet but once we get him up to speed then I'm sure he will be a great addition to the club."

I think Sidcup Graham's assessment of the two new players was spot on. It was hard to believe that Guest was only signed on Friday, he fitted in so well. Mackie, a youngster who I believe had a trial with Spurs, appeared to be overawed with the occasion but seemed very quick both physically and in reading the game. A significant factor in their performance on their debut has to be the confidence gained from experience.
As far as the game goes I thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly the opening period of the second half when both sides were going all out to score. Che managed to do what he is in the side for and put away a couple of chances which he has of late failed to do. A concern has to be the injury to Leon which surely should have resulted in the sending off of the Basingstoke player responsible.
