Please let it happen, two err big clubs who deserve each other ..... on plastic. Actually, the Maidstone fans were quite a nice bunch although they do go on alarmingly about how their pitch is ok and not an advantage. Ffs, it would be interesting to have a poll as to how many Maidstone fans would wish to see their team play on real grass at home and how many would prefer to keep it as it is because they perceive it as advantageous?

Maidstone fan here, no doubt we all prefer a good grass pitch but 3G is too beneficial to the club to pass up both financially and the amount of things it allows to happen at the ground without worrying about the pitch. Every team has the advantage of knowing their own pitch better than the opposition and last season our home form left a lot to be desired at times, this year we keep winning at home but our squad is far stronger so I'd put it more down to that. Nothing beats a nice grass pitch but in the middle of winter there aren't too many of those and far too many games called off.

So many teams train on 3G now that they should be just as comfortable on 3G as us for the most part, especially Conference clubs who train more than we do. As for injuries, why do so many people train on 3G if they think it's going to put half their team in hospital?
