Wild challenge from Jake and then a bit of pushing and shoving afterwards. Then he had a lot to say to the referee before he left the pitch.

Not acceptable for anyone, let alone captain. I'm not there, but Bristol radio said it was two feet and jumping in after he lost possession just a moment earlier. Also, given he got an extra game ban for comments to the ref after the red card at Dartford, you'd think he'd have the sense to button it rather than stay on the field arguing after today's red card.

Gonna be four games minimum then.

Irony is, Jamie said in a pre-match interview that discipline was the key today....

Shot ourselves in the foot again. Even at one down we could have got back into it. Poor discipline and lack of clinical finishing does for us for the umpteenth time.

Let's not be too negative, today's game is not a game that will decide our fate ... but it is a shame that the captain will now be banned for games that might be key.

So that's the captain and the manager suspended - again!  The return match against  Bristol Rovers could be quite fruity.

Against Bristol rovers! We should start with ten men. It'll save the ref from putting his hand in his pocket for the red card.

Or fruitful for them as we only have two centre midfield players.

Chris Bush and Ben Jefford in midfield - sorted!  That should stop them playing!

Look at the league table.
Look at the football we play.
Look at what might have been versus 9 man Telford, Barnet at home dropping points in injury time, and also dropping points at the end v Southport.
Would might have been?
And with players mainly under 21.

If we go down this season it will be solely down to discipline and the resulting suspensions.

It really is as simple as that.

A game we were in with a shout with up until shortly after halftime.  A goal after a good piece of football from the opposition (after we gave it away in midfield) put us on the backfoot then ill discipline took over; the captain was sent off, the manager was booked (5th = suspension), Jamal was cautioned for dissent and Malachi was booked for doing nothing other than slipping over.

Jake in particular must realise that he is a key player and full bloodied tackles are fine and a part of his game, however, when they leave the referee with no other option than to produce a red card they hurt us, as they did today, and will continue to hurt us in the immediate future. After today, BR must feel they only need to turn up next saturday to take the three points, I am sure with some novel positional reshaping Jamie can give them something to think about (albeit from the touchline).

The half of you don't know what your talking about. I'm surprised some of you even classify yourselves as fans, critics would be more fitted.
Gallagher has done so much for this club and I strongly believe that with out him we wouldn't even be in the conference league. He was out there doing his job today and the ref was a f###ing prick that had no clue what he was doing and made a decision to card Jake off the crowds reaction, simple as that. By what I saw (and I was standing where the rest of you were standing) Jake's tackle was clean.

Wellings problem at the moment is lack of encouragement from us. We are all so quick to dish up the criticism (probably trying to kid ourselves that we could perform better than any of the players - we can't) before we give support. Yes our disciplinary record is **** but giving criticism to players that were undeserving of a booking makes their support from fans **** as well.

Wings 13 Two Points For You And One Question

My Question is how long have you been coming to Welling??

Ok Now To My Points

1.How On Earth can you say that wasnt a red he takes the Man Then swears at the ref

2. Most Of Us Fans FAIRLY criticise We All have our Views its TRUE what you dont see is we are where we are due to suspensions caused by indiscipline. We are not here due to the fans lack of encouragement but due to errors we are making as a result of our players being suspended and fringe players having to come in

SO THINK AGAIN BEFORE YOU TALK SUTCH CRAP

At the time i thought it was a Red card. However I saw the footage on Tom's camera after the game and it's not a Red card. Jake clearly wins the ball first. The combination of it being in front of the Rovers stand, the Rovers players jumping in and the ref not giving us anything all afternoon probably led to the sending off. So the only thing that's crap is the ref's decision to send Jake off.

We really don't get a fair rub of the green from ref's. All those tackles last Saturday could have led to a number of red cards and yet we get a player sent off for a tackle nowhere near as bad as the ones last week?

I guess we really suffer with a tiny squad!!....refs at this level are intimidated by large home crowds undoubtedly!!.....they havent the balls to make the correct sensible decisions!!!!

If it isn't a red card we should appeal. The Conference won't be impressed with our disciplinary record and accepting unjustified red cards could prove expensive in more ways than one.

I was far from the tackle and have not had the benefit of an action replay. If it is clearly a referee error, we should appeal. I do agree that it looked nowhere near as bad as the Halifax tackles.

By the sound of it we were up against another team which "plays" the referee?  Perhaps on Saturday, and from now on, we should document the performances of referees at PVR.  Tom did a grand job with the footage of  disgraceful fouls by Halifax players on Harry Beautyman which were shown on national media ( I bet the FA has done naff all about that, but quick to judge us on tv).  It will be interesting to see similar compilations of serious fouls by our opponents which go unpunished, but our players get carded yellow and red for their first challenge?

From where I was standing ( albeit at a distance) it looked a stonewall penalty.  However the camera does not lie (or should't) and if Dean after viewing the footage says it was not a penalty that is good enough for me and apologies to Jake.  Notwithstanding this, we have still lost Jake for 4 matches, a loss which could be critical to us and I totally agree with the last postings that if it is referee error, then, an an appeal is a must, complete with video evidence.

I didn't see the footage of the penalty. Just jake's red card. Was too far away to see the tackle that led to the penalty properly.

Talking of penalties. 23 games into the season. Have we had one awarded to us yet?
