I believe I have the privilege of knowing a bit about this situation, but I will not blab because I love this club and the people who run it, and have done so for more than 35 years. Much as I have high regard for Jamie and his management team, this club is bigger than all of them. Whatever happens, we can and we must regroup.Sure, I have thought about supporting a wealthier team, one of them on my doorstep - not the same though, is it? Glory hunting devours the soul. We supporters rallied and saved this club in its hour of need, Please, let us not fear the big-spenders -we are the Wings, we march on

Thing is, were the management team to go...and probably take a couple of players too, what chance staying in this league?

I do not know on all counts, and I do not know whether you do too. I guess it is down to Jamie and his team if they leave and whether they have emough regard for us not to hinder our chances by taking some of our players.

Ever said a positive thing??? Their are other managers/players etc..in fact we would (hopefully) have a bit of cash to get a couple players. Im more concerned with our rivals raking in cup money at the moment, because that is what will send us down, them being able to get stronger... not what personel we have available at the moment.

I have only properly starting following the Wings under Jamie, and from what I can see he does an amazing job, that can't be doubted. Clearly it would be great if we could keep him, but sadly even if it isn't now, eventually he will go off to another club. I am sure the club won't simply let him go and we will get a decent financial payout as people have said before, he is an important player as well as manager.
But, Welling played at conference level before Jamie, and will do after I am sure of it. Welling is a perfect opportunity for young managers (hopefully half decent ex players with good league connections for loan players) wanting to prove themselves at this level much like Jamie was.
Again hopefully this won't happen, but if it does I am sure it will be ok. More importantly lets hope we stuff Ebbsfleet at the weekend and it will put him off!!
Every team has a chance, Welling have not been left adrift and with the disciplinary and striking problems have done well to sit where they are at the moment considering the vast changes in the squad from the last two seasons. What will happen will happen, Clubs with rich benefactors at this level are a risk for a manager as young as Jamie to take on they are more suited to a John Still / Barry Fry type of older more experienced manager as they demand success quickly and at Conference Level you need more than a deep wallet to get that.
Jamie is better waiting for a job offer to run the Academy for a PL team or a First Team coach role at PL level. Football League Jobs and even Scottish Jobs have 60 plus applicants from all over, Burton just appointed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, so if Jamie left we may be surprised at the level of applicant for the Welling role. I can't see Ebbsfleet in the FL any time soon as there are still plenty of bigger teams left in the Conference after this season to get in their way, you would need to sign more than a few mercenaries.
There were a number of us at the start who thought Jamie was another convenient 'internal appointment'. Evidence has proved that, if it was, it wasn't a bad one. I suspect that even he, in his wildest dreams, probably didn't envisage what has happened.
He will go at some point and, unless he takes us back down a couple of divisions, it will be at his time of choosing. If we limit to another 'internal' appointment we will need to be exceedingly fortunate to maintain what we have. If we don't, we can probably have nearly as good a chance to survive, if we get the choice right.
The thing is, if Jamie does leave mid season and we went down, the temptation would always be to assume we would have stayed up with him, which isn't a given. The disciplinary record might improve though!
Im hoping and praying that all this blows over ASAP and Jamie,Ash,Frosty and the other coaches are still with us in April. Would Jamie jump ship now half way through the season with a relegation battle on our hands? I hope not! I believe the Club should do everything in their power to keep Jamie and his team. Who`s out there to take his place anyway?

Should Jamie decide to leave, it would be great if Barry was offered the job and accept it but I cannot see it somehow.
I am resigned to at least Jamie and Barry going, but would like to keep Dean at the club if possible, Dean is a good coach and if we could have him working with someone like Lee Clarke with JT as his assistant I think that is a good combination to continue the work done Jamie and Co, yes both inexperienced in terms of management but both have an understanding Welling United FC and have worked under Jamie and Barry
It is embarrassing for the club though to see the manager leave to a side in the league below
I think Ebbsfleet are a bit different to a normal club just below. They have the budget to be up in the Premier within a couple of seasons. We on the other hand, with our budget, could struggle to remain in this league.
Mr parkinson can stay down in pikey central!!! Whoever it is has a tough job, i can think of 4 players who will also be leaving for different reasons in the near future..that being williams, JT, healy and faz.
As people have said, said to see them go but it was only a matter of time. Hopefully Barry and Barrie have built relationships with AFC Bournemouth and Jamie's other contacts, we've had some great loan signings from them in recent years.
That's why we need someone who is young, hungry, has played at a high level and can still play and who is well known and also knows lots of people. Not far fetched, see Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton, only one league above us and the sort of person we need to come in.
