We've lost some of our best players - Franks, AA, Dyer and Roscoe. Now we've lost the management team. All for not much in return - Happy Christmas!
You can add Beautyman to your list as well.
Catch 22 really. If you put silly release clauses in their contract they might not sign anyway, if you put prices too low you are easy pickings.
Now the club needs to think carefully about who they really want and use some of the compo to get him if necessary. If they just go for some out of work, cheap and cheerful local option then we could be in trouble.
At the end of the day we are a Conference National side which should mean we get some decent candidates applying.
I was very sceptical when we took Daisy on five years ago (as were lots of others) but that didn't turn out too badly!
The worrying aspect, apart from losing a good management team, is the possible loss of players to Ebbsfleet (I hope our best and most promising players are under contract) and whether our loan players will be recalled now that Jamie has gone. I do hope we get a statement from our club soon outlining the facts and what measures are being taken to replace Jamie and his team.
It isn't an ideal situation losing all of these players + management and for not much money to show for it, but that is the reality until we have a wealthy backer or we start getting 1000 plus through the gates.
The positive is that these players joined the club and performed well for us, which perhaps they wouldn't have done without those clauses in the contract. I personally would much rather that than get players of lesser quality and therefor not playing at such a high standard.
The most important thing now is to hang on to our players we have got adding maybe one with some of the compensation and make a smart move in terms of the next manager, not just a cheap option.
Lets hope we can show our quality on Saturday and beat Ebbsfleet! COYW

I'm not too downbeat to be honest, this was always going to happen. As for players who go for peanuts, we wouldn't have got them in the first place so it's been a pleasure to watch some of the talent over the past few years - including Beautyman, and a pleasure to see a young manager get us promoted and keep us in the league. Big thanks to everyone who helped achieve it.
AT least these other players took a step up, cannot understand dropping down a level, lots of pressure to get promoted, not so easy for a younger manager to manage mercenary older players. Am sure he will try to take a few players in January but will these players gamble to drop down a level for money or stay in a league where they may get noticed like HB and progress.
If I am not mistaken, Conference South teams are not governed by the same transfer window as we are - so can sign players in December and all the way through to a deadline sometime in March.
ps. thanks Jamie and team for the memories. All the very best.
