Great win yesterday by Wings, well done team and temp management. Unfortunately I was not at the game through general malaise and also the apparent lack of information supplied by the Club to the supporters, not only in relation to the recent managerial issues, but other areas too. It may be that some of my questions were answered in yesterdays match programme which of course I do not have, or I have missed some news items on the website, but I am not over confident! I do appreciate that much good voluntary work is done by people at and for the club but;
1 - this tweet appeared on 'Eurostars' account onFriday; "BBC Radio Kent Sport @BBCKentSport · Dec 19 FOOTBALL: @wellingunited chairman confirms Jamie Turner he will be in charge for Tuesday nights FA Trophy replay against @EUFCofficial". This suggests to me that on Friday, the business end of appointing a new manager was done? Would it not have been courtesy to Wings supporters for the Chairman/Board to have made a post on the website BEFORE yesterdays game, if only to suggest an appointment was imminent or better? Instead speculation remained rife whilst others outside the club had already been given 'news'?
2 - I have seen no news from the club about Michael Chambers since JT said he was injured, (presumed rested from the Trophy game so he can play for Eurostar when on loan there in the next round!! LOL) Has his loan period expired? Did the club thank him for his efforts? Ok we are never likely to sign him in the future, but one day who knows? If the club said goodbye
3 - On yesterdays bench, Kiassos? ok, he did not get on the pitch but where has he sprung from? Anyone know anything about him other than he is Greek? Loan, signed?
4 - has the club officially appointed Lou Fazakerly in some capacity?
Most clubs make a Friday website posting updating fans with team news, injuries, suspensions, availabilities etc; where my points above could have been updated? All we got this week pre-Shots, was the attractions of the club showing festive spirit! Not exactly an influence on the pitch side of things. If I felt I was being kept in touch then my enthusiasm to attend could have been greater? The wine and cake did not encourage me!
Finally, Kevin, we were sort of discussing this under the "Bring a mate" topic, (sorry I was not there yesterday to accept your kind offer, (was there any real ale?). Are the club likely to inform us if the "mate" campaign was a success or should I presume Aldershot brought 256 of the 756 gate with them? sorry 257 as I was not there!
Good luck to Jody - every appointment can be questionable, but lets be positive and hope the Board will soon be claiming another scoop!
yes, thanks Spills, JT touched on the management situation and Kiassos...but should we have to be waiting for a vid in order to get 'latest' news, I thought that was what a website was for?
