Referee awful tonight. Has been awful all game. Ebbsfleet player just ran into Bush, who didn't move, and got a free kick, and Bush got booked for standing still.
Had to leave at h time as son was not well really awful game and yet again more money wasted we have given up 5k for not winning in this round :(. Really hate what Jamie is doing to our club he is taking players and unsettling the whole squad and he knows we are thread bare and not rich enough to just go out and replace guys who leave str8 away :( I mean where was Healy tonight is he next to be taken? The loan players will soon be leaving us and then we really are gonna be in trouble I hope Mr brown has a good eye for talent and gets a goalie and striker so we dont have to rely on loans :(. Anyways merry xmas all and see you all on 28th for next home game as family over on boxing day COYW.
I am sure there will be a lot to digest for the new manager.
For me we sat off a little at 2-0 up hoping to hit them on the break, and that cost us as they pegged us back. We were unlucky in extra-time but it should never have gone that far.
On a positive, the new manager won't have that approach from what I have seen and heard, attack attack attack seems to be the way to go. Good.
Gutted with the loss, not the best performance but id rather it happened in the cup and we play well in the league. I just hope this doesn't have a negative affect going into the christmas games, two wins in the next 3 games could really see us get a long way clear of the relegation zone!
Looking forward to seeing what Jody can bring to the team. COYW
Should have won tonight but some poor defending and we gave them virtually the whole of the 2nd half.
The Dover scout was there again trying to work out our tactics etc, joined by the manager as well. They will make around £250 K out of the FA Cup televised clash. For us, we lose £5 tonight, but the league is far more important.

Should have won?? What game were you watching?! Second best for most of the night and the 2-0 half time lead was flattering in the extreme. At least our new manager was there to watch.
My thoughts.
Bush should never play left back again in a million years.
Gallagher needs to not "tackle" at all because every time he does I fear a red card
Bassele, for all his talent, needs to stop sulking and throw his toys out of the pram when things don't go his way.
We basically had a squad of 12 last night without Jefford and Healy and that is unacceptable. Beautyman left weeks ago and was never replaced. Day (the player) not replaced either.
I don't see us getting a result on Friday or Sunday - not because we are not good enough but simply down to fatigue.
Draw was the worst possible result in 90 minutes, especially given we then went on to lose in ET. 120 minutes before a tough run of fixtures in a small amount of days is certainly not what we needed. It's not like we have a squad to rotate...
On the positive side our second goal, as many suggest, was sublime. More play like this would be fantastic!
JB saw last night that he's got his work cut out but there is some talent to work with. We need some new bodies in from January. COYW

Rant over.
Absolutely spot on, Wingnut, regarding the lack of players. Surely we knew that the loans would be up soon, and, with departures, we would be seriously depleted over the Xmas and New Year period - a crucial time in determining our Conference Premier status.
The biggest problem last night was the lack of fighters!!! They would have known that ebbsfleet would come out second half all firing and must have known they would have to dig in for 15 mins... But once again like Maidstone away too many players went hiding! That 2nd goal was coming for 30 mins!!!!
Not great all round last night. It looked to me as though one of our players was fouled in the build up to their first goal. But at 2-1 we just sat back and invited pressure, a situation not helped by the fact that the home supporters were so quiet. We need more supporters, preferably younger ones who get behind their team- just like Ebbsfleet had last night.
I agree completely with Wingnut about the lack of players. Why was n't Henly on the bench? Loan over? If so then why have we not asked JT to honour the 7 days?
Anyway, being positive, we have now lost just once (over the 90 mins) in 9 games and that was away to Bristol Rovers. Our young players are getting better every week as they gain more experience. Fyfield has been a revelation. The team has come together in adversity and shown real spirit.
Lets hope that the whole team learns the lessons from last night as we go into this Christmas period of 4 games in 10 days. No playing for draws, or settling for a point, or sitting back on a lead for 38 minutes. Be positive lads.

Happy Christmas to all associated with Welling United.

Same as you I guess. 2-0 up at half time to a team from a lower league...should have been done and dusted right at the start of the 2nd half with missed opportunity. Then sat back the whole 2nd half allowing the visitors the initiative. Visitors clever with sly fouls. Visiting management team played the situation "well"...appalling referee* and a 4th official who took 6 minutes to make a substitution! Left thinking thank goodness it wasn't a league game...and what more damage will the departed management team do to the club? We will do well to stay up and the new manager will need to strengthen the squad very quickly.
* How in a million years was the KSA "foul" a booking?

You think you should have won tonight, you were lucky to get a replay in the first place. The game was there to be won by Ebbsfleet in the first half, yet we went in trailing by 2 goals, the second of which was a great move. We missed our chances, as we did in the first leg. Our main priority is a finisher, we miss to many chances. Your priority must be to stay in this division. If you get relegated you will have trouble getting out of the Conf South. We will find it difficult if we do not get promoted this season, with the likes of maybe Dartford, yourselves, Margate, all striving for the title, and one for the play off spot. Personally I like to see as many local games as possible, so lets hope we are all in the Conference next season. I hope our manager does not keep raiding your team for players, on that note apart from Marsh,(18 month contract to Ebbsfleet) Fyfield looked about the only one tonight who would push for a place in our team. You now need your new manager to earn his corn, and unearth some talent. Money does not buy you success, but it sure helps.
