Keds signs an 18 month deal at Ebbsfleet.... Gills can't be feeling too grand about that...

The transfer deal alone must have cost a relative fortune considering he only signed a two year deal with Ebbsfleet in the summer. A bit of a gamble as Jamie's going to be under some serious pressure now to get Ebbsfleet promoted.

Won't be the only signing clearly ... can't have a team over players on 300-500 a week and then Kedwell ... watch this space.

Jamie winning promotion with us on the budget we had, was a fantastic achievement. Buying it can't come anywhere close to that, if indeed it happens.

I wish him no harm but nothing is guaranteed, you only have to look at Burchill once he signed for Gillingham. That can happen to anyone...

No fee I believe. The Gills have released him from his contract. Nothing is guaranteed but he will score goals at that level.

Very dangerous... Spending loads of money guarantees nothing, if they fail to go up this or next season will the money still be there??

It appears clubs still haven't learnt lessons from Portsmouth, Salisbury, and Hereford to name a few...

Thats the reason teams go pop. If or when the money walks out, their liabilities are overwhelming and there is no hope of continuing. Its happened many times before. Let them enjoy their ride. They will get enough stick if it goes pear shaped.

It will certainly be entertaining while it lasts, I think they will spend obscene amounts over the next 18 months and make a mockery of Conference South if the money sticks around.

They`ve now signed a fella called Stuart Lewis. Ex Spurs trainee. Spent the last three and a half years at Wycombe Wanderers. He was voted their player of the year a couple of years back. An undisclosed fee. He probably at 27 years old wouldnt be going down that low for less than what hes on now or more. Top of League 2 to Connie south wannabees. They must of made it worth his while.

Blimey, JgFC / Observer. Still following what is happening with the Fleet.

I still sense jealousy amongst a lot of non league clubs, Welling fans especially. I would be if I was Welling or Dartford etc.

But all this talk of us "needing to be promoted or the money will go rubbish" is laughable. Yes, the investment will one day go, but that's a long way off. Our investors, KEH Sports, are here long term. They have spent a six figure amount in refurbing the ground since the summer of last year, and are about to spend god knows how much on a whole brand new 2 tier main stand on our Stonebridge Road side, with new offices, changing rooms, bars, club shop and more, plus doing plans for the rest of the ground. Can someone tell me why they would do this and then suddenly pull out? They have no reason to pull out. Ebbsfleet United is now very much part of the KEH infrastructure (check their website!). KEH have invested billions in the local area, £2b on the Paramount theme park alone. The chairman of the Fleet also now owns 30% of Bluewater as well. They are here to stay long term, and see potential in the football club at Ebbsfleet United. A new future fan base when the new garden city is built up. It may not sound much, but our attendances may well increase by 300-500 if 1% of the new Ebbsfleet Garden City population was to attend matches, plus should we go up a league or two, or more, crowds will increase further. They always do.

Yes, we have been lucky, and will have a big chance of enjoying some success in the future. I would take this for the next ten plus years, and one day, when he money isn't there, we go back to our natural level, wherever that may be, or start again if the worse comes to the worse. But that's not being thought of.

It bugs me, that some suddenly critise those clubs who get some luck come their way, they cannot take it. And in Welling's case, some of you fans hate it that you had the chance to have KEH as your owners, but your guys behind the scenes turned them down.

Ebbsfleet are in for a roller coaster ride, but it's one we will cherish and enjoy, until the ride finishes in the far future.

Frankly, the only interest in your scheme comes from the fact you are now in possession of a manager who can effectively insider trade on our players whom, I would point out, had minimal interest in getting involved in your scheme prior to him moving there, if indeed they have interest in it now.

We know what our modus operandi is and we get on with it. Should that be disturbed by yourselves I hope we charge you a princely some for the pleasure.

A wet weekend in Swanscombe is as risky as Ebbsfleet going up

the only potential they saw in you is your location, not the club itself. Maidstone have far more potential then webbed feet but they are not in the paramount area. Maybe now you can get some proper toilets even if the ground is still an empty hole.

To be fair Ebbsfl££t were the 4th or 5th team that the Kuwait mob approached, hardly their club of choice for whatever reasons, Webbed Feet only said yes because they were up shiiiit creek, even if it does go tits up for them they will not be losing a club as the club was going unless they were taken over anyway.
