Ive just watched Jody Browns interview and the clip of the second yellow for Jeffrey. OK I`ll say its a foul. The ref got that right. But a foul that deserves a yellow card,do me a favour.

The first yellow was stupid and deserved

What was frustrating was that a Macclesfield player also kicked the ball away (off the pitch) soon after and nothing was done.  There were also a number of fouls committed by the Macclesfield #6 (and others) on Dominic Vose and only one deserved (according to the referee) a lecture when a yellow card would have been expected if only on the "totting up" basis.

The second yellow card could normally have been expected for the type of foul, but not having taken any action on similar or worse offences by Macclesfield, it was inconsistent to give it.  Being so close to the end of stoppage time in the first half (and where the 2 minutes came from was questionable), a more experienced and wiser referee (and one which didn't need to pull his shorts up whenever he made a decision) would have given a final warning.

That said, Chris Bush could have been sent off in injury time at the end of the game.  Granted I was at the other end of the pitch, but he did look to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity.

So, can't complain about the sending off but can about the inconsistency.

I am not sure where the blame lies and you'll never find out but I'd like to hope Jody had said to every new player on arrival, we are getting a crap run with referees so don't give them any needless opportunities to make a decision by doing anything stupid. If he did, it's the player who needs to look at himself, if not the manager also.

I agree, hes very quick, takes on players and is direct. One move where he destroyed a defender in the box with skill is something you don't see often in this league. Cracking player and a fantastic signing. Fair play to him for not chinning Sodje when he was walking to the tunnel when Sodje was mouthing at him and throwing hand signals at him. LOL Sodje even lunged at Jeffrey and was held back by the fourth official and Askey.  Thats fine though, if it was us they would have sent off five players, fined us 20 grand and deducted us 15 points.

I am convinced theres a directive from somewhere or a fear of the refs to get marked down by bigger clubs to get the smaller clubs being treated harsher note i didnt say just us... it could be against Dartford and others etc, maybe its not just us . There is no other way to explain the inconsistencies where we always get the rough end of the stick, the very harsh second bookings for questionable fouls. Heres three of them.

Gallagher at Dartford, Nouble at Wrexham and Anthony yesterday were all a joke and changed games, All completely destroyed us. People at the games can see the way other teams get away with stuff yet the first chance the refs get to be very harsh on us they cannot wait to do so. How can you book Jeffrey for kicking the ball away yet let Macclesfield do it lots of times? How?

There was a foul on Vose yesterday after he ran at their box and the ref did nothing it took Joe Healy to talk to him for a good minute calmly about why that isn't a booking before the ref relented and then called their player across and book him. There was another on Vose after another run forward which was a clear booking and the ref never booked him, no problem with that but be consistent, why minutes later give Jeffrey a second yellow for less that kills us? It doesn't make sense unless theres an agenda. Please tell me how this is not a yellow but you can book and send off Jeffrey minutes later?

Also so unlucky not to be 2-0 up the ball may be an inch out when AJ crosses it.

No teams are battering us, we are causing teams problems and competing but referee decisions time and again are handicapping us. We really have to use this as the extra 10% for motivation to say we can see whats happening and we arent gonna stand for it and we will try extra harder to stop your little games.

Refs aren't scoring goals for the oppo but in a large percentage of games they let oppo get away with things yet any opportunity they have to clamp down on us (often unfairly or wrongly) they do.

They consistently treat us harsher so there must be a reason for it?

The referee is the same one we had at Gateshead last season where he gave the home team a very dubious penalty and, later, he waved play on when a defender clipped Lafayette's heels when he was running towards goal.

That was awful, Lafayette was away, And the penalty was like Jeffrey's foul yesterday. Watch Gary Hills interview yesterday, Their ref sent off McNerney and Hill said the ref has done McNerney before and wanted to send him off again yesterday despite him winning the ball.
