if we sacked Jody and Glen tomorrow, we'd have no funds to get a better replacement before the Altrincham game. If you all reckon we'd be better off playing Altrincham with no manager at all, then you need your heads testing.

I'm sorry, but your winding me up now...I never really moan on here but you was not at the game..It was a absolute bloody disgrace, I'm not talking just poor performance. ..its was no effort no fight, no team spirit , , , no nothing!!! We'll stay how you want it and just go down shall we...

Ok. So you don't think we have point. Use your famed positivity to logically state to us why you think things will improve. I'm all ears as I can't see where style wise he is trying to get to, let alone if we are going to get there....

And that's the thing. You were at the game freezing your backside off for 90 minutes plus after a several hour coach journey, now everyones on the several hour coach journey back moaning about 'how bad the game was', 'we should sack Jody' etc, with each moan perpetually increasing the negativity and exagerating the situation. Maybe some people need go home, sleep on it and have a look at the link below and read the stats from the previous matches and then go on WingsTV and watch the previous games.
The performances had been improving bar the silly mistakes (red cards and pens). After a long journey to Nuneaton we've had no silly mistakes (I'm sorry but that IS an improvement), and we've lost by just a one goal margin. Not 5-0 as people would be forgiven for assuming just looking at the mouth frothing hyperbole on here.
People need to look at the situation From the outside in. We have no extra funds. We're not playing Football Manager 2015 where can type in a cheat and make £million pop out of thin air. The team and management we've got have the capability to keep us in this league. Sacking the management, and unneccesarily demoralising the team with this negativity is only going to push us closer to the trapdoor and it will be OUR fault.
The lads CAN beat Altrincham. They'll have the cameras on them with managers across the country watching them, so even more reason for them to prove what they know they are capable of. Let's put this game behind us, keep backing the lads and focus on next Saturday.

We don't look like a team that's going to win. Unless something changes I can see us going the rest of the season without another win. It's been a good while since I felt like that watching Welling.
WTID... The manager has had 1 draw and 8 losses in 9 games. You now expect him to win 4/5 games of the next 11. Never going to happen. A change needs to be made.
Today was the worst performance in years.

A terrible performance. Against a **** side as well. And when it matters most. Very few were either up for it and/or performed. Had we been playing Barnet away fair enough, but against Nuneaton and the manner of the defeat, it's not acceptable.
Changes are needed. And I include several players in that.
Wingstilidie - I've been going to welling for 30 years and been to far colder games and on worse coaches. This has nothing to do with what we've seen today and the previous lack of points. I'm on the coach now and if you think I'm going to wake up tomorrow and see it differently then you are mistaken.
I assure you all you're not going the get the miracle you want.
We don't have funds for new management or players.
If the players don't perform in front of the cameras then they've thrown away what may be the only opportunity they have to promote themselves to a large scale audience.
Negativity is not going to improve the situation. We support the lads through thick and thin. If they don't perform to their full potential then it's them that lose their livelihoods, not us.
im sorry but witd you are totally deluded. the only place this club are going with that clown in charge is to the conference south. id rather be negative and try and hope he gets sacked, than live in cloud cuckoo land and be positive and watch anymore of the crap that bloke is serving up!!!

Maybe not tomorrow but if the club hastily sack the manager tomorrow, can't get a replacement and we lose 5-0 next week then maybe reality will hit you.
So you pay him as you have to and stick him on gardening leave and get one of the existing players to do the job. If he wants to leave you let him but at no cost. No extra money spent. It was his decision to do major surgery on the team and it is now undeniably his team. Had he accrued more than 0 points with that team or I could see what he was trying to do I might be more inclined to give more time.
One small example. Henley came up for the corners at the end. No problem with that. Healy was being waved out of the box by the management. Given who has got more goals for us, I know who I'd bet my last tenner on to score if we had to. That, however, may not be a sophisticated enough view for some....
As a supporter for 25 years this is a difficult time
Jody and Glen come over as nice fellas and not even to question their footballing achievements on and off the pitch but 7 losses on the trot and not getting the players "up" for this game
Im afraid the decision has to be made
If it were down to me I would call Jody in and look him in the eye and ask him if he thought he was the man to keep us in the conference
If there was a moment of doubt from him - show him the door immediately we cannot wait any more games to make that decision

Losing 1-0 each week will still get us relegated. That's the reality you seem oblivious to.
Taken from the Grays forum at the time he left them..
The only thing that surprises me is that he left and was not sacked he could talk a good game but never play one you need some one who can inspire the team.
Thought today's performan was rotten to the core. No one was was interested. A floppy, half heartened performance. All playing with next season and their new clubs in mind.
The troll(s) on this thread can **** off. Deano bin them ffs.
The supporters even those that didnt go have rightly had their say. Cannot argue with much of it.
I saw no belief there today from anyone, Barney, Henly, Fyfield tried their bollocks off as usual. Nuneaton were piss poor and we made them look good. We have had a decent run of fixtures against sides in and around us and took nothing. Jake is back soon hopefully he can get a bit of fight in the team as hes another that tries his bollocks off.
Poor Sam Corne, done nothing wrong and cant get in the side, he has played well this season, he was unfortunate to lose his place. Vose coming off today wasnt a bad move, he had a rare off day, give him that as hes been superb for us.

I have only been able to get to a few matches this season so can't comment on performances, but in terms of off the field stuff it does all feel very Neil Smith:
- The MASSIVE turn over of players, every week there are another one or two players coming in or out. This means no consistency of selection and you get players who couldn't give a toss about the club. Not to mention the old ex-league players
- The total loss of the dressing room. Players sticking the finger up at fans is incredible, and utterly ridiculous. All seems very Charles Ademeno to me
- The results. Yeah I haven't been able to get to lots of games recently and lots on here have said we've been unlucky, but over what is now a relatively long period the results speak for themselves. Last 10 matches: D1 L9. You could have a Ryman League Division One side and they'd probably do as well as that by getting one lucky draw.
WTID, you say we don't have the money to sack the manager, but what makes you so sure it will cost anything? If Day wasn't on a contract at the start why would Brown be?
Results can't get much worse than they are at the moment. You say "Anyone would think we were nailed to bottom of the table and losing 4-0 every week", I'm sorry but the fact we're not has absolutely nothing to do with this regime, it's only due to the position we were in before he joined. It's not like he's achieved anything by the fact we're 5th bottom (and two of the clubs below us could overtake us with their games in hand).
Some of the teams we've played since he joined include Nuneaton, Ebbsfleet, Alfreton, Aldershot, Dover (x2) and Torquay. All in the bottom half or league below, it's hardly as if we're playing Chelsea.
The truth is it now seems very likely we will be relegated whoever is manager, but we have nothing to lose by gambling and bringing in a new manager with a fresh set of ideas and players.
He says Jeffrey played well and i agree with him, I thought he caused them probs and was one of the only players who looked like he could get us in good positions, I know he may have upset a few fans with a gesture etc.. but i thought he ran his nuts off in the main and was dangerous. I had a different view though obviously.
Jeffrey was my Man of the match and it sounds like Jody agrees. WingsTV gave man of the match to Barney just over Jon Henly.
