Has Steve Pitt gone? his experience in scouting and adminstration could still be an asset to Loui - if he has gone he's been a unlucky to leave a job for a new one only to lose it a week or so later.
I have had a good long think about this and I think Welling United is almost an unique club at this level. We have been operating for only 52 years and spent almost a third of that time in the top echelon of non league football. To be punching above our weight for that period of time is an outstanding achievement. I have not seen eye to eye with the Hobbins family over a number of issues and, lest we forget, we nearly went to the wall five years ago but the fans bailed the club out because it is a family club and it is our family club. Jamie Day had played here before, he knew what makes the club tick and he got everyone onside and pulling in the same direction. Jody Brown did not recognise this in my opinion and it was like a bunch of strangers all doing their own thing and the team ethic and spirit that this club has survived on for years and years has been lost along the way.
Loui Faz has played over 200 games and he gets what makes this club tick - whether he can become an effective manager remains to be seen but he is part of Welling United and I think we stand a better chance of survival today than we did this time yesterday. We need the likes of Joe Healy and Jake Gallagher (if he is still interested) to instil into the current players what this club is all about and get some team spirit back. We need to see the Barneys and Sam Cornes who also understand how this club works to be involved and everyone pulling in the same direction. Brown bought in some decent players (Vose in particular) - if we can harness these players in the right way we will be halfway to survival.
Good luck to Fazza and his team - we want "our Welling" back.
for me the final straw was him slagging off the fans. There was just no way back from that and in any future job he has he needs to learn to grow a thicker skin and not react to (justified) criticism
He's tweeted a few things, including a couple of digs in there. Says a full statement will be coming later, I'm sure that will be as riveting as his post-match interviews.
Although there are a few Wings fans patting Jody on the back .... hmmmmm. Even Stoddy has taken time out from the dairy to say he could see what he was trying to achieve ...!!!
If he was in charge at the start of the season and had that run of 9 games then he probably would have got a bit longer to turn it around. But when you're coming to the end of the season run in you just won't get that time. We can't afford gambling now but maybe could have in August/September.
Grays ath supporter here in peace. Sorry to hear this but I'm afraid I'm not surprised. Brown turned on supporters at Grays very quickly when games didn't go his way.
He talks a good game but comes up very short in practise. We understand that Glenn little is returning to grays in a coaching role.

Following the defeat at Liberty Way, Brown hit out at disgruntled supporters, saying: We lost 1-0 and they (the fans) think its my fault.
Fair enough, theyve paid their money but weve lost to a goal when its a five-on-two breakaway and, if they think thats down to me, that shows their level of football knowledge I suppose.
If it was down to organisation we got caught 5 on 2 that is down to the manager. If it wasn't, were they taking the instructions of how not to get caught 5 on 2. Doesnt seem so...

yep - allowing a 38 year old central defender to be the furthest man up the pitch without adequate cover at the back to stop any counter attacks is clearly the fan's fault
Sorry Jody, but I am pleased. Unfortunately my gut feeling to the appointment was bad, backed further by Grays forum who were not sad to see him go. There, he loaned out some young promising talent, brought in some inadequate replacements and had some sour words with fans. It's been repeated.
If we go down with Faz, we go down as Welling United which I can accept. Would like to see Penny back and some action for Corne.
Perfectly put. There's already a sense of unity amongst the supporters again, and if Faz can achieve the same spirit in the dressing room we have a fighting chance. It's going to be a tough ask but I'm infinitely more confident than at this time yesterday.

So he's saying with a bit more luck we could have come away with a 0-0 draw? Still not good enough.

that was the excuse after every game but he just spun it a slightly different way this time

Had every excuse under the sun, fails to mention we were ten point clear of the drop when he took over and overseen an utter shambles until we were put out of our misery. Those on Twitter never came to see welling play, or they believe the flannel he charmed the board with.
Are you related to him or something wtid??? Anyway #coyw. Let's get behind faz now, loui fazackerlys red and white army is a tongue full but I'm sure we'll think of something.
J just put a post on Tom FB page rf song .......what do ya think
All Jody Browns mates on Twitter dont seem to realise that he managed 1 point from a possible 27. If he had only got a couple of wins and another draw he would of been Ok. But to be honest I think it was his comments after the Nuneaton game and his total lack of understanding of the fans feelings that finally made the club act.
I still follow the Wings but rarely get to games so no idea whether it was a good or bad move to get rid so early - but given the way he's retweeting all the negative comments about Welling's decision it seems as though it was a good one. Not classy in the slightest.
Driving past PVR this evening my mind switched to 'gallows' humour. No, not because WE are now rooted in the bottom four after southport's win tonight, but the sight of the tv scaffold gantry behind the goal at the PVR end reminded me just how far OUR 'little' Welling have come? Something which the most recent manager appears to have done his best to take away. I half expected to see a Guy Fawkes style effigy of JB hanging from there! Then I realised how encouraged I am by his removal and whichever of his team may have followed him out of the door. Up to this point I had mainly seen negatives, something I was berated for a few weeks ago here. How quickly times and opinions change and I applaud the Board for not being shy of action. Lets hope it's not too late.
I would like to sincerely wish Faz and whoever is helping him, all the best for the rest of the season and here's hoping they can find the 15 points or so which may secure OUR national league status. And at least dirtford who appear frightened to make any management change are still below us, so there is much to play for.
I have not been commenting here lately for reasons which will be obvious to what appears to me, to be a certain 'select' group of experienced campaigners, who set out to berate and belittle any new member who dares to make a negative comment or opinion about OUR beloved football team. I am not sure whether I am even entering this comment in the right thread so I will copy and paste to where some of this 'select' group appear to continually berate others.
And I wish to make this appeal to this group, we are entering a new and hopefully successful era so how about a new beginning here too. Obviously in this type of democratic and free forum, there will be the occasional opposition supporter who wants to try and put one over on OUR club, that's life, but to question supporters allegiance after just a few entries is to me unreasonable, and, in my eyes, to ask where they will be at the game can be viewed as threatening?
Guys, you know who you are, some even admit in their avatars and text to being "Trollcatchers". You have done your best to try and turn me, an until now former Wings supporter as well as a football supporter, away, and from what I read I think there are others who would say the same. Freedom of speech should not be harnessed, so how about a new beginning? And, as I was chastised by one of you over the signing of Purse, I still stand by my comments then. I wonder what you think now?
Come on Faz, do your best mate, I for one will be rooting for you and the team. I hope you can get Charlie, Malachi and Ben back pdq, with Vose and Jake returning we can give it a best shot? And what's happened to Sam Corne? Is he unfit? At Christmas he was my prime candidate for player of the season! COYW
looking at his twitter makes me want to vomit. like others have said on here I doubt he has given people the full picture of what went on and has just said how "they didn't give me enough time" and "decisions went against us" - standard stuff and after his slagging the fans off after Saturday I find it unlikely he is the sort of bloke that can ever realise he has done wrong
the more time passes the happier I am at the decision to get rid
It would be interesting to hear wether the views of some of our longer serving players about Brown's time with us are as sycophantic as his mates on Twitter.
A few games ago I was willing to give him time but after his petulant and downcast interview after the Aldershot match and his comments about us last week I'm glad he's gone.

I think the fact Faz immediately wants to bring the likes of Corne, Hudson and Jefford gives you the answer.
He can act on it now he's the gaffer, but I'm sure while Jody was here in the back of his mind he'd have been asking "Why aren't these good young players who served us so well involved with the first team?". We were all thinking the same and you can bet other senior players were too.
Brown is now history. The only thing that proves the right course of action was taken are improved performance and hopefully results. Time will tell.
With regards to those who feel there are agendas with regards to who posts what, free speech is still permitted as far as I can see and the ripostes are nowhere near as vehement as when civil war was breaking out on here about 7 years ago. It don't make it right but whatever is handed out at the moment is a light dusting with a feather compared to then.

Just seen this, yes for me London calling is the best choice to come out to..although we could have matt 'medium' mein playing Pavarotti with the other suggestion.
