Fully deserved. Now let's hope we do the business Saturday and Faz can start life as the permanent manager of Welling United who will play next season in the Vanarama National. COYW.
So, let me get this right.... Faz and his management team take us to 5th from bottom of the table and we offer him a contract. A lot of clubs would be terminating them on this position.
To to take a team that had lost 7 on the spin (9 out 10 defeats) and still give us a chance of staying up merits the job. Loui's record is played 10 and only lost 4 with 3 wins and 3 draws. Only 1 defeat in the last 5. Mid table form.
Much more than stats though. We are playing with passion, belief and as a team.
Congratulations to Loui and his management team. I felt Loui should have had the job initially as he brought continuity of culture in the club. Onwards and upwards now and we're all behind you Loui.
Yes, congratulations and well done Loui to you and your team so far. Now let's get the permanent position of to a great start.
Three points Saturday please.
Let me first state that I think the appointment is correct. Personally I would have left it until after Saturday.
I don't think that the boost this week will be significant compared to the motivation the squad will already have after last Saturday. If we stay up that will be a big enough boost in itself. However, should things not go right on Saturday, this could have been a positive news story to lift some of the gloom at no extra cost, which could be extremely useful.
Don't expect anyone to agree but I just think we have done the obvious rather than the canny.

Agreed.
I think the timing may have been brought forward after the managerial departure at £bbsfl££t.
The focus however from players and management needs to be on Saturday afternoon/evening and nothing else and, judging from the last few games, I am sure it will be.
With what had transpired with Day, Ashby and Frost yesterday, I think that this was the right thing to do. Good luck Faz, let's hope your permanent reign can start with a survival confirming win on Saturday.

So effectively Ebbsfleet are still dictating our agenda!
If Loui is the right man, he is the right man regardless of Day's availability. I don't see how the above works anyway. If we stay up Loui gets carried into the job on a wave of euphoria, if we are relegated do you think Daisy would be in for the slog of trying to get us promoted again against substantially more clubs than before with sizeable budgets.

I'm guessing he meant it's best to not have talk in the week leading up to a massive game in the club's history about whether Day will return or not

On this occasion, yes. I would guess that the plan would have been to have made the announcement after Saturday's game but that these are extraordinary circumstances.
I think the board have done the right thing in bringing the decision forward.
Certainly the right move by the Board, the team know the need to go for the win on Saturday and now they have a leader who they know will still be there in the coming couple of months putting the new team together. The 5:15 kick off is a pain to all but the local pub Landlords!
I would also like to add my congratulations to Faz, and the Board for acting swiftly. It all makes good sense to have actioned Faz's appointment now, otherwise the future for our own youngsters may have been hanging in the air, and the chat about a Daisy return would have been rife, as we head into Wings arguably biggest day of the season?
And playing stato to any doubters for a minute, well the League stats are a no brainer. This season Daisy was in charge for 25 league matches which earnt us 29 points, (38.66% success), I think we have to ignore the Turner/Gallagher 100% one league match useful as it was, Brown then had 9 league matches for one point, (3.7%) whilst Faz has so far had 10 games in charge which has got us 12 points, (40% success).
A 40% success rate over the season (45 matches to date) would see us currently sitting in 18th place in the league with 55 points, a position I would suggest highly respectable for our 'low budget' club? So now Faz is manager, lets just concentrate on getting behind the boys and winning my predicted 3 points tomorrow, COYW
I just gotta say it.......I'm chuffed as nuts for my brother, and congratulate him and his team, and the squad for a great fight back from a perilous perch.
