Have just listened to the Radio Kent Saturday Soccer pre-season review of Kent sides. It would appear that we are cannon fodder for the rest of the league and ( along with Bromley) are the firm favourites to finish bottom. It would seem that there are now lots of monied sides in the Conference National and we just cannot compete. Whilst I agree with the first part of the last sentance, the second part is a matter of conjecture. The coming season is nothing new, on crowds of a basic 500 loyal supporters we shall again be favourites for the drop but we are perhaps more of an unknown quantity with the loss of some of te stalwarts of recent years. Faz a message for you, I promise I shall play my part as best I am able over the coming season in respect of Welling Football Club, just give me something at the end of the season (survival will do) to ram their words down their throats.

What's new? We were favourites to go down last season and our first season back up. Can we stay up again? I hope so! The key for me is to keep the team organised and as solid as possible. Don't lose heart when things are going against us. Scrape as many points as possible from the BBB sides. COYW.

How do Radio Kent know anything about Welling? Did they even visit PVR more than three times last season? How are they to have primary knowledge of how things are at the club
Last season they came to PVR a few times to broadcast out and about, but they don't class us as Kent. Even when they were here they didn't report on the game. It's pointless!
It's easy, and lazy journalism, that happens a lot. People look at a team who just survived with a low budget and automatically think we're down.
It won't just be Radio Kent thinking like that but how many people saw the team spirit we had towards the end of the season? how many people know about the signings we've made or the fitness programme? It will be hard to stay up but we were better than the four teams who finished below us, it wasn't luck and if we didn't have the manager situation we may have been well clear of relegation. I just hope we're better than another four clubs this year.
I bet Radio Kent follow D*rtford all round the south division anyway - with their tails wagging like good little doggies.
