 I can't say I've ever seen that in the laws of the game. Leaving the field without the referee's permission may have been the reason, but half the team could also have been done for that. BBC say that he was booked for a bad foul.

I think that it was going into the crowd in the celebrations that got the yellow.

I mean a 19 year old kid scoring a wonder strike live on the telly and he gets booked for over exuberant celebrations. What is he supposed to do - turn round and jog back to the half way line and get ready for the restart?!

Only, it wasn't really Corne that took the celebrations into the crowd anyway, technically. He was somewhat close to the crowd then all his team mates mopbbed him and that's where he ended up.

Don't disagree with you (good to see the footage again!) but he has no chance of avoiding sanction (as the goal scorer) in today's climate sadly. He seemed to think it worth it!

We probably celebrate 25% of our goals like that at home. Surprised we aren't booked more if refs are going to be that fussy about it.
