Without repeating myself and the comments of others, what I would like to see at Gateshead away is some guts, and some balls, and the management team try something new.
Our play is predictable and we don't score goals. Let's try something different. Hell, it might not work, but what we've done so far hasn't either, and given the long journey and their high-flying position, doing something different they aren't expecting might just be the positive move that is needed.
The same old same old I suspect will end in defeat.
So for me I would play;
King,
Nortei Chambers Lokko Jefford
Corne Lee Vidal
Porter Obafemi Harris
Looks familiar? No it isn't, play all three up top, right up top, none of this tracking back **** ... let's go for it Newcastle under Keegan style.
We aren't scoring goals, lets play three out and out attackers and give their two centre halves a game for once, rather than a free ride.
Excuse my French, but f**k knows how Aldershot's MOTM was their centre back on Tuesday night.
Gateshead fan in peace. Hope youre looking forward to visiting Tyneside today. Ive come to dump some information for your use. Sorry it comes a bit late as it took me awhile to get registered on the forum, but hopefully it'll still be of use to you:
If youre coming by car, the closest to the stadium you can park is Stadium Road or Saltmeadows Road. The Police usually put out cones on Stadium Road, but never as far as the back end (where the road joins the main carriageway), and theres usually a place to park there. Saltmeadows is usually a better bet, though as always arriving early ensures the best spot.
If youre coming by train, hop on the Metro at Central Station and ride to Gateshead Stadium. You need a Zone A ticket, and both the green and yellow lines run there so any train can be used. The trains you want will be announced as heading towards South Shields or South Hylton, and theres a map in the station to keep you right. Upon disembarking at Gateshead Stadium, head over the bridge and look for an exit on your right; turn onto it, and follow the long road all the way down and cross the road and you will be at the stadium. The path is marked by circular paving stone patterns at about 100yrd intervals you can look it up on Google Maps.
If youre wanting a drink, youre asking the wrong person as Im teetotal, but Ill do my best anyway. Newcastle is obviously chock full of bars the Centurion is embedded into the wall of Central Station, and I believe theres a second bar there too whose name escapes me. Across the road theres also The Head of Steam, Gotham Town and an Irish Bar. Slightly further up from the station on Westgate Road is the Wetherspoons pub the Union Rooms, which is a popular Heed Matchday Pub Crawl haunt. In Gateshead itself, the Heed Armys home pub is the Grey Nags Head on Gateshead High Street, while at the stadium The Schooner, on South Shore Road just off Saltmeadows, is a popular haunt for both Heed and visiting fans. If its food youre after, theres a McDonalds a short walk from the stadium, and of course plenty of places in Central Gateshead and Newcastle.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Have a safe journey, just dont take any points back home with you. ;)
