Big game at Grays, not to be taken lightly but a great chance to get into the first round.

I need to speak to Kings Ferry later today but i'm hoping that we can get a coach running to this game.

Guesstimated costs are that if we fill a 49 seater coach, it would be just £10 for WUSA members, if there's around 30 people that £16. Non members would be a bit more.

If anyone is interested in this then we need to know really by the end of Thursday/Friday this week so we can get it booked in enough time.

Please comment on here or email deanshulver@gmail.com if interested.

Had 1 email about this and just 3 people ask last night. I would presume that this isn't running

Just a reminder to everyone that Grays are currently playing at Aveley FCs Mill Field ground which is a nightmare to get to via public transport.

Sadly I can't make the game due to work.

Dean
I'm sure there may have been interest but many people probably are not aware of this
Was it promoted last night , or mentioned on the tannoy
I saw posters around the ground for Meet the Manager but nothing regarding coach travel to Grays
Or elsewhere
As you know only the chosen few grace the forum and the website
To get this out there you have social media and email to members
My programme notes keep referring to sharing info and for a club like us to exist and progress all
Info has to be shared to everyone not a select few

It's not too bad from the Essex side if you're prepared to travel that way round.

Get to Elm Park (District Line) or Rainham (c2c), then for both stations get a 372 bus to Lakeside which stops on Mill Road, Aveley, virtually at the front door. I haven't checked weekend engineering work, but the bus from Elm Park leaves from stop M (opposite the station) or from Rainham at stop N. Buses leave every 20 minutes.

With it only being announced on Monday afternoon it was going to be difficult to get posters etc ready for Tuesday just with the timing of it.

From previous coach bookings, at least 80% of them come through people seeing it on the forum and website so if that hasn't caused lots of people to take up the coach then it's unlikely we would have got that many from the game.

We will try to run coaches for Braintree and Dover over Xmas and then any other cup games that come up, especially if they are a bit further afield.

I think there's a few of us who are going to have a few drinks in D**tford and then get cabs across the bridge. It's only 7 miles I think. We did something similar for Thurrock a few years ago and it was cheap when we spread the cost around. If people want to join us then we can try and sort something out with that.

If the game is on the Sunday, there are scheduled engineering works on the c2c line going to Rainham.

I agree. Why the delay in agreeing the date?

As I mentioned in the other thread Grays have requested 1pm on Sunday. I think we should insist on 3pm if it's on Sunday although I think it should really take priority over the Aveley game on the Saturday.

It's Aveley's ground and they should get first dibs. I can just imagine the (justified) uproar should one of our league games get moved to accommodate E&B&Q in the FA Cup...
