I don't mind a bit of atmosphere being added with family-friendly chanting but violence is inexcusable.
Invited a mate to the Bromley game who then brought his girlfriend along as well. We're followed all the way from the ground by about 50 Bromley chavs no older than 14, constantly shouting at us and kicking the shop shutters, doors and windows as they went, with the three police officers (voluntary Special Constables) just letting them. Needless to say my mate and his girlfriend won't be coming back.
It's something affecting a lot more non-league clubs as policing of the higher leagues become more intense, and the concession tickets in these leagues are a lot cheaper.
There's a documentary on football hooliganism on BBC iPlayer at the moment. Sadly there does seem to be a trend of football hooligans getting younger.
This just needs to be nipped in the bud. If these kids are let in again and get over boisterous again, the police need to take them to one side, and take their details. If they really kick off, then just ban them.
Yes we want to attract more young supporters and create an atmosphere but not at the expense of deterring other supporters.

We'll get the old bill on the game if you pay for the costs of them having them there. Its not as easy as ringing the police and ask them to send a few bobbies down. Theres cost in it. As far as im aware, I dont believe there has been an above minor incident for us having fans ruining the wings games. Except for the very, very, VERRRRRYYY few occasions you find yourself down PVR
Speaking of policing costs, I've noticed that all the police officers at home matches seem to be Special Constables. Considering that they're voluntary and unpaid, what costs are the Met charging us for exactly?
One of my mates who works for the Met and stated virtually all the officers at Charlton Athletic matches are Special Constables yet the Met bill Charlton as if they are fully paid officers...
Does not matter what team they actually support or where they come from, but if the are in PVR taunting rival fans then to the opposition supporters they are Wings fans and deemed to represent our club.
