Hi, Wings fans!!

I am a Dagenham and Redbridge supporter who comes in peace.

I have been writing a blog about my Fa Cup Glory Hunt.

The idea is that I pick a team from the extra pre-lim round and then follow that team until they are eliminated.  Then I follow the defeated teams victors until they are defeated and the process continues until the Cup final in May.

I started this season following Sporting Bengal United, then Basildon United, Hullbridge Sports, Grays Athletic and now I shall be writing about your team Welling United.

As a football fan I have always loved the Fa cup and remember the exciting moments I have witnessed through the years watching my team as a non-league team in the earlier rounds of the cup.

If you would like to read my latest blog you can find me on twitter  @****neyByrites

Good luck on Saturday!!

Up the wings!!

****ney, pleased to learn that you are supporting the Wings this Saturday, will you be at the game? However your credibility has taken a knock as you claim in your blog that "...The Wings are presently in 18th place in the Conference South on 22 points." Please be advised that our league is no longer the Conference, it is now the glorious sounding "National League" and Wings are in the division above the equivalent of the Conference South. Looking forward to meeting Daggers next season!

I am a bit concerned that every team you have followed seems to have been knocked out at the first time of asking?!

Hopefully we can buck that trend on Saturday!

Thanks for pointing out my school boy error listing your team as a Conference South side.  I have removed this and updated.  However I will be continuing to refer to the top league of non-league football as the Conference, I have always called it the Conference and the national league just sounds poncey to me.

Unfortunately I will not be at the game tomorrow as my own Daggers have a cup tie at home to Morecambe.  Hopefully we can both get through, and maybe a meet each other in the very next round.

As for playing you next season, there is a long way to go yet and although we have had a poor start I would hope we have enough about us to finish out of the bottom two this season.

Thanks again for reading my post, and good luck at the weekend.

Up the Wings!!

Out of interest, which non-league team out of the all-consuming juggernaut that is Dagenham & Redbridge was yours?

Ilford? Leytonstone? Leytonstone and Ilford? Walthamstowe Avenue? Redbridge Forest? Dagenham? Or just the resulting Dagenham and Redbridge?
