BT has announced that the FA Cup replays between Bradford v Aldershot and Maidenhead v Port Vale will be screened live - so that must be a couple of clubs out of the coverage of the second round. Also, Eastleigh and Grimsby feature soon on BT in National League games.
I agree a win is on the cards, if we have the full team out. So do the management team "arrange" for those with a few yellow cards to pick up another, and serve their match ban, before the early December date?
'Only 176 to Plymouth' - Less than 2 weeks notice for a fixture we've already had midweek in the League in August, where we took similar! Equivalent to you lot playing in Edinburgh probably!
Don't know where anyone said 'only'. I think that is pretty impressive.
On a well known media forum, the posters think that Welling have a good chance of having their tie being televised behind Salford.
The problem with BT Sport having the Salford game is co-owner Gary Neville who is a pundit for Sky Sports. The latter may not be happy that one of their top men appearing on a rival channel!
Like any other supporter, if Gary Neville is required to work, he will have to miss the cup game.
also aren't Erith playing on that Saturday? Surely we get priority over their league game.....
If Erith think that the game may be segregated with their bar open to visiting supporters, I'm sure they will jump at the chance of moving it.
Very true but remember Averley were willing to switch dates but it was the away side Witham Town who refused. I would hate the game to be played on a Sunday after the tenants have been cutting the pitch up on Saturday.
I am doing a bit of reporting for local station Miskin Radio and may ask you what your opinion is on the draw made last night. It will be recorded using a device I have got. If anyone wants to have an input I will be outside the WUSA club shop just after 7.
I thought the BBC was supposed to be a public service broadcaster? Instead it seems our licence fees are subsidising Gary Neville's hobby. Did they bother packing up the outside broadcast kit?
Suspect this game wont be all ticket, unless the press start to give this game some deserved publicity. But will there be tickets sold before the day, just for those who want to be guaranteed a place. Like we do for the Charlton friendly. Id rather get a ticket before hand and go straight through the turnstile than potentially wait for 30mins-1hr on the day with what I expect to be a 2500+ gate,
Anyway at least we now know why the BBC chose Salford:
"There is clearly a real interest from the audience in Salford's progress and whether a team from the seventh tier can make it to the third round for the first time in their history."
All day at work the usual Arsenal, Chelsea fans were stopping me saying "I'm really interested in finding out whether a team from the seventh tier can make the third round for the first time in their history".....that with "I'm not going out on the Friday now as I've a real interest in Salford's progress".
Someone needs to start a switch off Salford campaign....The usual Premiership love in even after they retire
Seventh tier? So in six seasons time we can look forward to watching Salford take on the rest of the Premiership, but what will they be called? Salford fc or AFC Salford? No, neither of those, instead they will be "BBC Salford", success for which us licence fee paying viewers will have contributed. I shan't be watching them until they come to PVR the season after next!
ps I'll take the 2500 gate for the Carlisle game, 999 more realistic, unless there are lots of freebies?
2000-2500 I don't think is too unrealistic. Palace away on the Monday night, West Ham away, Tottenham away, Charlton Away, Fulham Away, QPR don't play...good advertisement of the match, and we could get 2500 through the turnstiles.
2000 plus is never gonna happen IMO. Put together our 600 die hard core support add 200 curious strangers/floaters add another 350-400 Carlisle fans. Gives 1150-1200. I Hope i'm wrong but I cant see too many more than that I'm afraid.
Have to agree around 1000 will probably be there, a 2:00 pm ko would certainly help the Carlise fans get home at a more reasonable hour, drowning their sorrows on the way. But the match does need a few posters up around the area to publicise it locally, just changing the "next match"board at the ground is not going to boost the gate.

the attendance will be just over a 1000 max. No way will we get anywhere near 2500

And if they win the logic would have to be there is interest in seeing if they can reach the fourth round for the first time in their history. As long as they wheel that argument out if they are drawn at home to Forest Green and Tottenham draw Arsenal, Man U draw city, West Brom draw Wolves and the Villa get the Bluenoses. Or maybe not...
I wonder whether local hotels, eg the Premier Inn, would do special discount rates for Carlisle United supporters travelling down on the Saturday or the Sunday or on the Friday to make a weekend of it with a trip to London's West End ? (For those inclined to go shopping!) Perhaps there is a combined ticket price for this sort of thing?
