Time for us all to forget about the FA Cup for a bit and concentrate on tonight. We have been showing good form at PVR under the lights and I believe that could continue again tonight.
With Southport and Torquay without a game and Boring Wood facing a tough trip to Bromley it's a great chance to increase the lead over the bottom four.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
I thought they were very good, tonight. Ten minutes away from beating top of the league. And that without Sam Corne too.
Things are looking very positive now, aren't they?
In general pretty strong defensively. A couple of players looking like far better players now they're settled than they did at the start of the season. Great finish from Bakare, and good to see a forward come in and score in back-to-back games.
Was a good save from King, was a good defensive display and was a good goal.
However, why not stick Kabba on for Porter or at least move Vidal up and bring on a defender? At least Kabba and Vidal would chase balls down and prevent Forest Green defenders settling on the ball. As it was Forest Green's back four had time to settle, their midfield had time to move forward and they pressed us in the second half. Tash is too slow to chase balls or challenge for high balls so it was just too easy for them. Forest Green are top for a reason but I don't think we saw that tonight. Lose 3-0 and maybe we would.
Sorry, as good as a point is 'on paper' or 'before the game' it felt like we just lost two.
Agree with most of what is said above, but yes, it was a game we went into thinking a point would be good, but having got to 94 minutes, felt it was 2 points lost.
Lots of plusses but for me, the most disappointing aspect was the two free kicks we were awarded in attacking positions in the last 6 or 7 minutes. We boldly threw the cavalry forward but then floated both into the crowd behind the goal. Surely this is a point of play practised incessantly on the training ground and we need to be capable of putting free kicks into the mix. Those kicks were schoolboy stuff.
Great to see Harry Lee back, apparently he was more tuned into Welling's progress on Saturday than Orient's , where he kept the bench warm for the afternoon. Perhaps this is an indication of how Faz and his team have bonded these guys together? Well done lads, more of the same on Saturday please!
I didn't think we'd get anything out of the game so the point, against the league leaders, is a great achievement, particularly as a win was so close. It will have sent out a significant message to Carlise as well. Great effort by all concerned.
Good game from the lads, all positives part from one and that is....can we never ever see tashan in a welling shirt again!!! Absolute useless, and if anything I'd rather us play with 10 men, the whole.mood of the game changed when he came on..We were pressing them from the front then all of a sudden there was nothing.
As others have said I would have bitten your hand off for a point before the game but was frustrated we didn't get all three although we didn't really deserve it. Was very disappointed with Forest Green - very one dimensional and didn't look like a top of the table outfit to me.
Top marks again to the back four for standing up to the physical and aerial bombardment. I don't think I will ever be a founder member of the Tom King fan club but he is part of that defensive unit and pulled off a wonder save in the second half. Good to see Harry Lee back in a Welling shirt as well. Bakare scored again with a very well taken goal and yet his reward was to be shunted straight out on to the wing?! Porter, as always, gave his all and was always going to tire after a heavy shift on Saturday.
Now I know we don't have the resources of Forest Green but the substitutions said it all for me. They bring on a bloke we know very well who has work rate, hunger, effort and has now added a goal threat as well. We bring on a bloke who has none of those traits. I realise that Forest Green have a far bigger budget and can expect to have a better quality of player but I still expect every man in a red short to put a shift in and that was patently not the case last night. We finished the game with our famous 3-4-1-2 formation (which we have hardly ever adopted) with a front two including one bloke that won't/can't run and another that is reduced to half hour cameos at best in case his dodgy hamstrings go. The blame should not solely be aimed at the players but at the management team who recruited these players and handed out contracts like sweets at the start of the season....
Tough games ahead but we can't always expect to rely on the back four to bail us out week after week and we need to offer a more consistent threat at the other end or at least have better options to use when the first choice players are tired and/or injured.
Fantastic effort with lots of players standing up to be counted. The goal from Bakare was sublime but I felt in the first half we conceded too much ground to a very fit team. It was very difficult to see who was top and if the players can keep this level of confidence up then we should win more games. If that is the top then we should not be but a lot of work has to be done defensively to concentrate fully for the 90. Having said that very proud of the effort and I feel we may be on the verge of a good run again. Tom King's saves were great but he still keeps kicking the ball out of the ground. Bakare looks the business and I am sure he will start to net more frequently if played more. Well Done Welling!
