Stating the obvious, but if we are to stay in this league and keep, and possibly improve, our attendances we need a goalscorer. Yes, they don't come cheap (from whatever level) but the consequences of not having one will be far more costly. It seems to me that we have the players to supply a striker with the ammunition, whethet the tactics are right is another matter.
hopefully we will get some news soon every other club seems to be doing something to improve their fortunes but us-Faz where are your attack minded players?
We must be the only club in the division who hasn't as yet moved anyone out or brought anyone in.
Either an inability or unwillingness to admit fault in some of the signings, and an inability and lack of contacts to bring in new faces.
As Polo rightly says, moving some of them out could be tricky. Who's fault is that I wonder? And doesn't it give a fantastically accurate reflection of the attitude of some of the players that they are pretty happy to sit on their wages and not even make the bench, or play just occasionally. Not the sort of people you want along side you in the trenches in a relegation battle.
Too many fans caring more about the club and cause than some of the players.
Given all the critics comments on the decisions taken by the Management Team over the last few months, how much belief do we have that the right decisions will now, suddenly, be made with respect to players arrival / departure.
I have to say I'd be more confident if there was someone new taking the decisions.
I'm guessing that we would have to move out players first before bringing some in. Trying to shift out some of those could be rather tricky!
Hang on, I know it would make sense to move on a player or two, but have we not made enough money from the Cup run, trophy bounty, to invest in a couple more players in addition? Surely we have gained enough dosh in recent attendances plus Cup money etc to sustain a player or two rather than to solely sustain the existence of the club? I suspect the player(s) moving on could be the ones we want to keep, and they, presumably will go for a fee. If so, I wonder how much of that fee Loui will be able to spend on replacements - and that is what they will be, not additional, new, players?

I do hope there is some additional cash floating round, but we can't follow what some clubs have done and gamble on throwing huge amounts of cash to try and stay up to end up being in the brown stuff should we go down.
There are a few players at the club that in my opinion are not up to the job and we need to get those players out, on loan if needbe to free up the money to bring in some loans.

As OldOak2 has said, whether there is the option to bring in one or more players in January (after shifting some out) do we really trust the current regime to get the recruitment right based on the "strikers" they put on contract in the summer...?!

I certainly don't. I suspect some of the other clubs we might try and get players from might feel the same too. Leaves us either chancing our luck or stuck in a dead-end, neither good.
well if its to unveil the new manager then I would be pleased but I expect its to show us the team are training hard and they may make some signing of a player from a club called Nowhere who cant score for them but lets guess that striker will probably have been mismanaged and will be the miracle 'attack minded player'. Sorry to be sceptical but it has reached rock bottom, and I like Mr Realist dont trust them with the cash to buy us out of trouble
It's to late to get anyone in before tomorrow's difficult game and possibly the Torquay game too.
Ignoring the distraction of the Trophy, we need at least one striker added to the squad and taking part in training sessions to develop an understanding with the other players before the games against Barrow, Altrincham and Halifax. If we don't improve & only get a point or two from them the season's virtually dead & buried as they're followed by some hard games (e.g. Cheltenham twice).

Let's just say I'm not overly optimistic...
I think you'll also find, unless I've read the rules wrong, that any new signing won't be eligible for the cup game unless registered by the end of today.
I think it therefore fair to assume we won't have any new faces at all featuring tomorrow v Grimsby, Tuesday v Torquay, and/or versus Havant.
Being blunt, not bloody good enough. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
