Ben Tomlinson, made available by Barnet, would be nice but out of our range am sure.
Have always liked Frannie Collin who's borderline at Maidstone these days (on loan at Leatherhead I believe) but even if Maidstone would deal with us is probably out of our range too!!
You don't get much for your buck these days with player wages seemingly recession proof (due to competition for their services I suppose).
Torquay has just signed striker Nathan Blissett from Bristol Rovers. So, that's two strikers (three if you include Ajala) signed since the transfer window opened - all signed by one of our relegation rivals.

Well that's pretty laughable considering the financial mire Torquay are in!
Agreed entirely, but it does show a club fighting for its life and trying to right wrongs and do something positive and/or different to try and change their fortunes. I guess, given their financial issues a relegation would cripple them so they are going "all-in" to try and stay up.
Compare that to our clubs efforts, very little evidence of any activity from the powers that be making a management decision, or from the management trio making player decisions.
It could be argued players coming in are limited due to funds and or management uncertainty, but there can be absolutely no argument or reasoning for the lack of moving people out other than inability or the ridiculous idea that some of them are up to it, having proven over 26 league games thus far that they are not.

I'm finding the continued silence from the owners and management "team", is increasingly annoying. Treating the dwindling fan base with such distain is insulting. A simple statement as to what is going on would make a huge difference.
I suspect a degree of "as it is" is in place for the cup game in the hope we win and make 5k. Although i hope the club prospers, if that is the attitude, a defeat might knock some sense into some people.

Torquay are trying to buy/loan their way out of trouble and that is down to them. Relegation might well cripple them but so will spending money they haven't got whatever division they end up in next season.
I am as frustrated as the next man as to the lack of activity in the last fortnight. This all comes down to two factors both down to poor management...
1. Offering two many contracts out at the beginning of the season (to sub standard players) leaving little room for manoeuvre when the transfer window opens up. The reason all these other clubs are moving players in and out left, right and centre is because they can and they have flexibility within their squads to do that.
2. To get some players in we presumably have to get some out. That is easier said than done. We all have a fair idea of who we would like to get rid of (temporarily or permanently) but that means the other clubs paying some or all of their wages. I bet if we offered some of our "strikers" to any National South club they would pretty much all say thanks but no thanks. Therefore you are looking at Ryman clubs (where we have loaned players this season) and the vast majority of them are going to be on far tighter budgets than ourselves. Also some players are probably happy to sit on their ar$e and take the money on offer - that applies to Premiership players as well as Conference National ones.
Hopefully there will be still be some movement sooner rather than later. Havant would be a nice game to win but Barrow tomorrow week is far more important and a new face or two could be a boost for everyone.

I'm not sure whether I agree with your last sentence there Wingnut. Win 4 games in the Trophy and we are at Wembley. 4 wins in the league still sees us 5 wins short. Either way it's good to hear that we are taking the competition seriously.
