My bigger worry now given the apparent acceptance of being in the bottom four is that when we get relegated that will be acceptable and the trio would carry on next season. I could definitely see more trips to Sarpsborg, Haugesund etc if that was the case taking Odin73s advice.
I did warn when we got promoted that by putting up ticket prices we would be dependant on away fans to sustain to budget. I also warned that after the first season there would be a drop in away fans as the novelty of visiting Welling wore off. Not only that, the novelty for floating supporters to see Welling play at National League level at £15/16 a time (with Charlton charging £17) has also steadily worn off.
When we were in the Conference South Jamie Day said we needed home attendances of 800 to balance to budget. Bar games like Grimsby, Tranmere and of course Carlisle, we've struggled to get just over half that.
The main reason I spoke out against sacking the current management team is that based on the huge dip in home crowds, Barry's comments regarding the apparent club budget blackhole of £30k, the lack of a public vote of confidence from the board (I seem to recall even Jody Brown got one!), and the fact the management team weren't sacked before Christmas, has made it pretty obvious that the only reason the current management team are in place is because they are all we can afford at present.
Even though the majority want the management team sacked, it seems the board are powerless us too as it would leave us with no management or someone even more inexperienced (it is possible) working unpaid voluntarily or for the equivalent of less than minimum wage (pay per win commission structure) which is highly unlike.
Dulwich have more than quadrupled their attendances to 2,000+ thanks to affordable ticket prices and fan and community initiatives to promote the club. Meanwhile we seem to be on an endless downward trajectory thanks to years of unnattractive ticket prices and as a consequence a budget trap that has led to our current predicament.
I appreciate it is a supporters right to complain when things are going wrong, as well as to boycott games and protest. However as frustrating as the current situation is, this is the best we're going to get.
The club's currently on a precipice. It's up to the board to decide whether to implement a long-term sustainable financial/growth policy like Dulwich FC. However it down to us whether we decide to get behind the lads on the pitch (not the management team if you don't want to) and convince them that they have got the ability to keep us in this league, and also make this a club they want to play for with a supportive home crowd. Or we can continue with this perpetual negativity and induce the clubs own demise. If things continue as they are, there won't be a club to boycott within the next five years.

You pre-suppose that change is desired. If the current income stream on the current outlay of effort and control gives the owners better money than they would otherwise get with their skill set elsewhere why would you change if you haven't thus far, even if that money is partially reduced?

You might find its because they give away free tickets by the absolute sack load to anyone that wants them. Adults also go free when they let kids in on free tickets. You might also find they have not got a pot to piss in as their manager stated the only way they could bring in a Ryman player was via a boost the budget fan scheme that raises about 6k a year. Less than ours on our so called meagre gates.
If you are going to write paragraphs of the gospel according to WTID, at least be sensible and correct.

Wtihout spending too long delving, it looks to me like for the season to date our attendances are up nearly 3% on last season. Just saying.
I believe the contribution to BTB from WUSA and other regular fan donations has been around 10 -12k the last couple of seasons.
800 is the balance over the whole season, that accounts for games at the 500-600 level but also a lot higher.
The 30k shortfall as many have explained before is down to the vast number of away games in September through to November, As I believe we have 6 Saturday home games in February and March, this will allow us to make money back and reduce the shortfall.

Am I being a mite simplistic, or did the club make much more than the said £30k shortfall - and I have not seen any direct reference to a £30k sum by a club official - from the Cup run in prize money and tv money alone? Plus we had a replay against Grays and a large, admittedly shared, gate against Carlisle; plus £5,000 prize money from the Trophy game against Tilbury; plus two large gates (for us) against Grimsby and Dover. Who said we had a £30k shortfall, or did we just leap to conclusions from Barry's programme notes? And if the shortfall was that large, surely we would not only have recouped that by now but also put a fair sum in the coffers?

Also, the club has another Cup bonus to look forward to in May when it will be one of 32 non league recipients (1st round proper qualifiers) of a shared pool of a 5 per cent levy on gate receipts of FA Cup replays from the 3rd round onwards. Pray for more replays.
There was additional money from the cup games, I think we got approx 20k of non gate revenue from the Radio and TV coverage of the Carlisle game, hopefully this has covered much of the shortfall.

Plus share of gate receipts from Grays (x2), Barwell and Carlisle games

Share of gate receipts from Maidstone and £bbsfl££t (x2)
Whilst I appreciate that we have overheads and a lot of travelling earlier this season, I don't recall (m)any comments about us being skint last season......

I'm not sure how much if any compensation Jody would have got out of that last season.

Even the most naive of employers would have given him a 3 month probation period..........oh hold on
My memory is foggy these days, to say the least. But did Barry state in his programme notes that the costs of all of those away games (thanks NL fixtures person) was or would be in the region of £30,000 or whether he said that our Cup run at that time would help to recover the costs. I don't have the relevant programme to hand. If so, does anybody know whether that outlay (of course, it may have been more than that) has been referred to elsewhere by club officials?

Yeah look at Halifax ,Torquay and Kidderminster they are flying now..........not........... if i was a manager looking for a job and came on this site and see the comments about a welling legend i wouldnt want to come to the club
Halifax aren't flying? They are unbeaten in eight ... W5 D3 L0 ... they've scored in all eight of those games, with a goal difference in those eight of +9 and a total of 16 scored.

And are more likely to be in our price range to attend than Real Madrid...
I can confirm that we at Dulwich Hamlet most definitely have plenty of pots to piss in with gate takings at last 2 games around 3 times the weekly wage bill and large amounts in bar takings. Giveaways are targeted at specific groups on specific days. Yes, when inviting school groups we invite the whole family to come. Think I explained that kids can't come on their own, teachers won't bring them so it is up to parents. If they don't want to pay the kids won't come. We have one of the most diverse supporter groups. If you want to see it first hand message me and I will give you tickets as well. The fans love funding specific players and know who they are contributing to. What we have done has also generated column inches online and in print way beyond what a club at level 7 of English football should get. I said before it is our concession price that is a major attraction. Then there is Pay Your Age season tickets for kids, family season tickets, local ales, good quality food. I have followed Dulwich for 40 years since I was a kid and these are the best times ever.
I don run our 12th Man Scheme so cannot comment on the amounts it pays out or gets in but it makes an important contribution whatever it raises or ends.
