Imagine he was never at Welling United before and all you knew is that he's rumored to be a good coach, but lacks managerial experience. How would you vote?

I ask because I'm concerned that the board are effectively giving him a free pass to lose every game for the rest of the season with the excuse of "He's been left with an impossible task", and I don't think they, or the fans, would have that view if it wasn't someone we had an affinity towards already.

If the board believe his task is an impossible one then they must take an enormous amount of the blame for leaving it so late to make a change. Performances have improved slightly, but it would have been difficult for them to get any worse.

Of the players he's signed so far who have you actually been impressed with? You can't say that he's having to play with Faz's team as 6 of the 11 today were his signings. We didn't score goals under Faz, and Frost has brought in a number of attackers who look equally ineffective. Can he identify the right players? Because the squad is going to be dismantled over the summer. A few have gone out (thank god) and WUSA made an additional contribution to give him every fighting chance of staying up this season so there has been some money to work with (not tons of it, I acknowledge, but he knew that when he took the job).

That's why I'm in the "review at the end of the season" category. I believe we're assuming he's the right man because of what we know of him from the Day era, but I'm struggling to pick a lot of positives out. Somebody else, with a clean slate, might be a better option if we actually bothered to advertise the role. Get Frost to re-apply by all means and if the board consider him the strongest candidate then I'll fully support him.

We've ballsed up several appointments, and we can't afford to do it again in the summer.

Let's face it, the state we are in I don't think any manager would avoid the inevitable relegation. So to suggest another change may occur will only cause more disruption.

This is my point. Have we employed somebody because he happened to be available, and was budget friendly/the only one who wanted the job because he has an affinity with the club, and us with him?

How are we supposed to decide whether his performance across January - April is good/bad/indifferent? Why not advertise the role and leave no stone unturned during the summer to ensure that we have the right man, be it Frost or someone else? Disruption now is really of no consequence. We are down and only a handful (at best) of the current squad will be there next season.

Interesting post. Its so hard to say because before Loui had his winning run he looked like being sacked. Frost is trying to change things but the issue is time. Some signings and changes haven't had the impact I would expect, and there is a lack of fight from the new signings. I am surprised they didn't go for experienced heads Brown tried that though some of those were clearly shot.Day had made a team and his players had good old-fashioned English spirit. The team at the moment has no leader. Welland had more bad games than good but perhaps his experience is needed on the pitch, when there are so many new faces.I like many are surprised Nortey is favoured when he was so out of sorts. The loss of Jefford is crushing and our new centre forwards aren't braking into a sweat.Frost will be good to stabilise us in the south.

I think it's a tough situation with the amount of players on contract and difficult to move on. I imagine the playera that have been bought in are not high earners, had we of had more freedom to get some players out, i think we would have got some better players in.

The question is...does Frosty want the job?

The option the club takes cannot be to wait until the end of the season. We cannot have a situation where we have a new manager taking over in May with only two contracted players (who may both want to leave). Even if we stick with Frost and Ash then they need to be aware that the job is theirs so they can make the relevant preparations.

To be honest if we finish 12th next season in the conf south it would be an excellent season and a great platform to build on.

Lee, Lokko and Nortei should already have new deals on the table as far as I'm concerned.

Frost or any prospective new manager would have to be blind to not rate them at Conf South level.

Watching the Frost interview post Aldershot it seems he wants the job next year. I'd say we need the stability of a permanent manager, and Frost seems to have his own vision of how things should be run- as when we won the CS 3 years ago.. The board should tell him the job is his for next season, give him a rough guide to his budget and tell him to get planning! Without sounding negative we need at least 24 points from our remaining 12 matches- not going to happen!

Yes I thought that was one of his best interviews. Made it clear there's too many people in and around the club whose attitudes aren't right or who quite simply lack the ability to perform at this level. Also thought the comment about the team lacking an identity or style was bang on.
