It's painful!

Cannot now wait for the final whistle next week so that I can put this season firmly in the rubbish bin and look forward to new beginnings.

If I were Mark I'd be telling a huge chunk of the squad to just f*** off and go on their holidays as clearly that seems to be all they're thinking about.

Meanwhile the youth sides who've done quite well this season, with the U16s winning the Kent League this week, have been given no representation at all.

I'd much prefer to see the lineup against Borehamwood mostly consisting of youth players as they've been far more deserving of a place in the squad than the current crop of time wasters.

The youth sides have had little or no reward for their efforts this season. The opportunity to play in a National League game that is now little more than a friendly, is the least we can give them. Even if it ends up being a cricket score drubbing.

Massive credit the supporters who've travelled up to the game today. I will be livid (more so than now) if you guys don't get a thank you/acknowledgement from the players at the end.

I'm not at the game today but my dad messaged to say that Sam Corne came over to the fans and apologised for the performance.

Me and my boys went up for the weekend to include a trip to the National Football Museum in Manchester on the Saturday morning. In hindsight we should have stayed there in the afternoon! Had it started to rain on the open terrace in the second half I would have been sorely tempted to walk out and I have only ever left Welling games early when I have needed to be elsewhere

I realise we had nothing to play for and our opponents did but, even accounting for that, it was one of the most spineless displays I have witnessed in many a year following the Wings. Not even the basics of effort and commitment were in evidence and the lack of simple passing (Kargbo apart) was embarrassing. And as for the set pieces...words fail me. Once again we came up against a wily, experienced target man who bullied us all afternoon and helped himself to a couple of goals and should have had more. He might have had more clubs than Tiger Woods and a massive ar$e but he knew exactly what he was doing, gave his all for his team and led the line really well - contrast that to the combination of show ponies we have had up front over the season who are weak, selfish, disinterested, lazy and couldn't score in a brothel.

The only saving grace was that MG got to see just how poor some of the players were both in terms of ability and basic effort - if any of them were auditioning for a place in next years squad then they have failed the first audition miserably. Perhaps some of them think they will get picked up by another Conference National team.......on the evidence of this season they are sorely mistaken.

I am looking forward to 7:30 on Saturday evening when this nightmare will finally end.
