...for not getting FGR automatic promotion, not sure if Jamie Day will be there to lead them through this.

Aldershot, Ebbsfleet and Bromley beckon, I reckon.

He was quite outspoken about the pitch and lack of groundsman last week. No excuse to sack him but I think the owner and Ade didn't get on.

I wonder how Ben Jefford is feeling about his move to FGR now that Jamie and Ade have left?

Should imagine he isn't in the worst position. If the new manager likes him he'll be ok if not, I guess he'll be paid out the door and I imagine there will be a few suitors given his performances for us.

Also heard on Talk Sport the Crawley management team was sacked the other day, which included Jimmy Dack as assistant.

Cheltenham won the league as they have a very good experienced manager at this level, amazed how they gelled a new squad so well. This is a hard league and plenty of bigger teams than FGR have struggled to get out of it, fancy Dover in the play offs by the way.

Grimsby, chokers but should win the play offs against two small teams and one in disarray. FGR, basket cases and will probably lose in the semi as their season goes into full melt down. What a great chance for either Dover or Braintree to get in the league, neither will ever have a better chance.

None of us like Dover for the administration stuff and p in the £ just a few years  ago, we used to hate Braintree but they do not play that anti football as bad as before. I will be cheering on Braintree and will be laughing if Grimsby choke yet again and FGR get rolled over.

Surely Braintree ground isn't up to league standard is it? Not been since we played them in fa cup so may no longer need a step ladder to see pitch down far end

From the Football League ground grading requirements:

Part 1 - Ground Capacity and Seating

1.1    Subject to paragraph 1.4 below, the ground capacity and number of seats under cover, as recorded in the safety certificate, must meet the following minimum criteria:

 CapacitySeats
Qualification criteria4,000 (with ability to reach 5,000)500 (with ability to reach 1,000)
Admission criteria5,0001,000 (with ability to reach 2,000)
Membership criteria5,0002,000

1.2    A new member club entering League 2 must comply with the Qualification Criteria and has until the 1st May in its first Season as a Member to meet the Admission Criteria set out in the above table.

1.3    Where such Club remains a Member of The League that Club shall have until 1st May in the third Season from the date of its admission to comply with the requirement to achieve a capacity in accordance with the Membership Criteria.

Braintree's ground has a capacity of 4,222 with 533 seats so they qualify. So does Park View Road using those criteria - after Mark Goldberg's rebuild it'll be fit for Champions League!

Am I right in saying that the promoted clubs get somewhere in the region of £500k which can be used to upgrade.
