Vidal was being touted but we singularly failed to push the right buttons with him in the way he was 'managed' Hopefully, with the management team we now have, we can give these guys the right environment to find out if they can cut it at NS level.
An important thing to remember, if I recall correctly, is we are back at a level where we don't have transfer windows so you aren't stuffed for half the season if you get it horribly wrong.
Waldren (ex Bromley) and Nelson (has been at Eastleigh/Sutton I think) ought to be good signings and hopefully the other two will be as well. That said, as others have echoed, we don't want a team of Rymans! These were easier to snare perhaps with hopefully more (some higher than Rymans) to come.
Healy and Waldren in midfield would be up there with anything Ebbsfleet could put on the pitch.. Healy wouldn't break the bank and he could train evenings.
If I understand it correctly, players on the retained list are those who have been offered a contract renewal that is at least equal to the previous season. It does not guarantee that they have signed.
Non contract players such as Kargbo / Nortey / Saggers may or may not have been offered a deal. We will have to wait and see on that.
I agree. When we signed Andy Pugh, the deal was done a good six weeks before the announcement but because of his contract with Gillingham, we had to wait before finding out officially.
Welcome to the new four players. Hopefully, with the right players around them, they will thrive in their new surroundings.
I really hope that MG rates and can sign Joe Healy if he wants to move from Maidstone. We
missed him so much last season. No doubt that he is a class act, even when he is not in the game he can produce that bit of magic that leads to a goal or score one out of the blue himself. Also, it brings that bit of continuity with the Wings of old. My biggest fear is that he is tempted by Dartford - don't do it Joe, we have history with State Penitentiary FC (not least the play-off final).
Healy would be welcomed back as he was released by Faz because he couldn't train mornings, then Faz let others miss training, its no surprise how badly Faz did after that is it?.
Lets hope Joe realises that this is his home and everyone is behind him, also hope MG rates him and has him on his radar.
There was a post on twitter from Chelmsford city saying that a player from Bishop's Stortford was looking to move to them although Welling have come in with a better offer. Robbie Wilmot i'm hoping!
