Comfortable win for the Wings. Goals scored by Bush, Crawford and Slabber.

A bit sloppy in places but MG has some difficult choices to make before the Oxford game. Who plays in Midfield, up front and alongside Francis at centre half.

I'm pretty sure we have no right winger and that sprague and archie Johnson will be giving him a headache on the left side too. So pretty much our whole team needs picking!!!! I'd like us to be beating hastings on Saturday but I reckon a few of our lot will be shatterd, and it's goin to be very hot.

Welling Twitter suggests Martell-Thompson scored the third, another from last season's Development Squad.

Twitter is wrong - definitely Slabber.

As Polo has said some selection dilemmas ahead for MG and his coaching staff

A free header from slabber 6 yards out after the keeper saved an initial shot.

Who is Chris Mitchell as he was one of Welling's subs tonight according to the team sheet?

Also, could anyone help with the identification of the number 20 who played at centre-half in the VCD game on Tuesday?

Cheers.

Another good win and, presumably, a good work-out for the squad. I suspect player recruitment is dormant now, apart from a search for a right winger either from within our ranks or from outside - assuming MG is happy with the 'keeper cover he has. I suspect we will see team selection sorted for the Bromley game, with a bit of tinkering against Millwall. As people have commented, MG and Damian Matthew will have a big task in keeping all squad members happy - I wonder whether a few fringe players will go out on recall loan to clubs such as VCD or Thamesmead to get match time ready for selection when called?  Incidentally, is DM back in tne dug-out, so to speak, as he did not seem to be around for the recent home matches?. Perhaps he has a pre-arranged holiday or professional engagement?

DM was there last night and on Tuesday at VCD. Speaking to MG on Saturday he wanted a Striker and a winger, signing Harry Crawford means just the winger vacancy is required.

There is cover everywhere

Nelson can play centre back
Hatton can play right back
Sprague can play left back
Devyne or Jonte can play on the wing covering PJD
Archie can play left wing
We have 3 centre backs
We have 3 centre mid
We have 4 strikers
We have two keepers

It looks a balanced squad where we won't need to play a holding midfielder at left back if someone is injured. If the quality is there it's probably the best balanced squad we've had in years.

I suspect the likes of Archie Johnson (who can play left back or left wing) and Joey Taylor (left back or midfield) may go out on loan to be recalled if required. One place where there is no cover is in goal but I guess someone can come in on short term loan if required.

cant remember a pre-season like this with so many goal scoring options. Just hope we can keep this up in the South.

IMHO I think both Archie and Joey should be kept in the squad and used as often as possible. They both seemed to have pushed on from last season as players and look physically bigger and stronger.

Ebbsfleet won 1-0 at Thamesmead, we won 3-0, VCD beat a Dartford full team 3-2 tonight, we beat them 4-0 but could have been a couple down.

Hopefully we put in a shift tomorrow and keep gelling and building confidence. We might not be too far away even though it's hard to tell in pre season.

We won at thamsnead 5-0 and this result doesn't excite me. Your theory proves nothing.

So used to Dartford playing below Welling I actually forgot what league they play in. 5-0 vs Thamesmead must have been an open top bus job for Dartford Council FC?
