I think it's fair to say that there is quite a bit of room for improvement. Or God help us!

Not happy with today.

Sam Hatton may be many things but a right winger he is not.

Mitchell Nelson far too casual.

Jamie Slabber still looks well short of adequate fitness.

Bobby Devine kept coming short and losing the ball. Not his position.

Also very frustrating that the likes of PJD are seemingly injured despite hardly playing.

The one positive was that I thought Sam Corne and Danny Waldren worked well together in the centre of Midfield.

First half we competed and lpoked ok, MG has said himself in bar after game that he put on a few trial players and it didn't work out....He knows his best 11 and I believe when they play we will be ok.

If he knows his best 11 then why not actually play them together today?

To be fair to Danny Waldron who played quite well. He was really giving the defence a roasting after the 3rd or 4th goal. He wasn't happy at all. I agree that he and Corney look solid together. They need to be a bit more head up looking forward though. The forwards aren't getting much to work with.

Lost 5-0. Half time was 1-0. I had a long chat with MG after the game. He played 6 or 7 trialists/youth players in the 2nd half. Can't read to muxh into today. I seem to remember the year we won the league having an awful pre season. It all counts from next Saturday.

Cheers Dean. Personally I couldn't give a monkeys about friendly results. It's the ideal time to get things wrong.

It's good to give players a chance in these pre-season games so credit for that, and for the performance of some of the players. Others don't looked to have switched on yet to what is expected. Looking at the games so far, since MG took over, we seem to fail to perform against opposition further up the league pyramid, but give "lower" teams a bit of a runaround. What this may mean for the coming season I'm unsure so its fingers crossed for the first 6 matches which will go a long way to defining the season.

What was the line up in the first half? Thought we were ok for most of that half (ignore the experimental second half)

Line ups and substitutions are at the end of the match reports in the appropriate thread.

Even the team sheet handed out on Saturday was not 100% correct!

The Welling starting line up had one error and none of the substitures numbers agreed. Bromley's side showed Toby Silver as a sub but it was clear that it was Tobi Sho-Silva when he came on.
