Look forward to welcoming back Ben Martin to PVR tomorrow.

Mr Bender however will not get such a warm reception...

0-1 Half time. Very poor, misplaced places, too much played down the left. Nelson poor at right back. Poor penalty, delibeate push.

Well that was awful. A team lacking ideas, fitness and a lot of passion. We were told to judge the team after 10 games, i'm afraid my mind was made up after last Saturday, let alone today. I can't see anything else other than relegation if we keep this squad.

Corne and Williams would have walked into this team but were let go. This is worse than last season by some margin, which i didn't think was possible.

Not good enough in any areas, not even one highlight I can pick out.

Attendance is going down, 483 today. If we play like this against Chelmsford then I feel that we won't gain any new fans. Need to improve very quickly...

Based on the falling attendances, I imagine the player budget is no longer sustainable. We need to cut the dead wood now.

I appreciate MG has put money into the club but he has to either admit that he's f***ed up by recruiting players that aren't fit enough for this league and/or that him and Damian Matthews aren't up to it as coaches.

really poor left before the final whistle. Not fit enough, not hungry enough-sheer pony. We seem to be slipping down and regressing. shame really I expected a better season chasing promotion. Instead we look like bottom basement strugglers.

What a wasted afternoon, I could have stayed in The Hinge and got plastered. Very very disappointing display there is just no apparent effort or urgency in the team, they do not challenge or appear interested. At one corner we had 4 players back on the halfway line! Not once did I feel we were getting control or that pressure was building. Worse still I didn't think the opposition was much good either! It's one thing to loose to a good team but to loose, by yet another penalty, to a rubbish team is inexcusable. I assume that as MG is a Director his position as Manager is secure, so as a Director he needs to take Executive action and put some spine and grit into "his" team. Time is running out!

Absolutely clueless! Not one positive thing to say. Sorry there is one. We have a decent keeper. That's it. I haven't been so bored for a long time. Nothing to cheer. The most exciting it got was when Waldren got a bollocking from the ref. Bottom of the league. At this rate we'll be relegated by Xmas. Bloody hell is this really happening.

And again, I haven't got a clue how the club have come up with that number as looking around the ground it didn't seem anywhere near that.

To make things worse, the official club Twitter account thinks we have remained 2nd bottom after today's result. No, we are bottom of the pile. Dreadful, the players recruited by MG appear to be simply not good enough at this level. The penalties being conceded is getting beyond a joke now. Is there some world record for penalties conceded in consecutive matches as, if there is, we are going to break it at this rate.

The players that need chopping immediately include:

Hatton - past it, legs have gone and on the decline.

Slabber - Lazy and well past it

Crawford - more clubs than Tiger Woods, what does that tell you? Not good enough.

Nelson - 3 of the 5 penalties conceded have been down to him. No where near good enough, I actually feel sorry for him because he is so far out of his depth.

Brown - not up to this level leaves us exposed because of it.

Waldren - the headless chicken of the group runs around doing very little.

Devyne - offers nothing, not up to this level.

MG should seriously consider stepping aside and Letting someone have a go. Let him concentrate on the proactive work he has done off the pitch as at he moment he is ruin it all by taking us down on it.

This squad will get us relegated of that I have no doubt.

We are 2nd bottom, Concord conceded late on to prevent us going bottom. We stay above them on GD.

I hope our players have been watching the Olympics thinking they fancy trying a new sport. Because they're not footballers.

When Goldberg took over I'm sure he said he had 'no interest' in being the manager... however 5 years ago he said "I don't have any desire whatsoever to get involved in the business of football again, but what I do want to do is to see how far I can go as a football manager," he said. "I love managing. I love the excitement of it and one day I want to earn a living doing it."

Interesting to see how it pans out...

Yes, it was awful. However, I can't help but think that if either of the two chances that struck the bar had gone in we would have gained a lot of confidence and a result. Even so, it is even more depressing than last season. Something has to change - and quickly.

I had a long chat with MG after the game. He fully admits he has messed up with recruitment and wants to put it right. There was no waffle or relying on the players we have signed in previous seasons and will be making changes.

The keeper kept us in the game today with some fantastic saves. He has pulled of a cracker in every game this year. If only every player had the same desire.

Surely these players were scouted before they were signed! He must've known what he was getting. I lot of blame should fall at the feet of himself and his coaches. They should of knocked them into shape by now. Making the wrong call on one or two players is fine but there's a few more than that.

Mitchell Nelson does n't look good enough for this level. Hayles is not a centre midfielder-he can not pass well enough. It's pretty damning for MG as a manger that we had players who were more than good enough in these positions on contract but he let them go.

It's not realistic to call for a whole new team but we certainly need one or two additions and the rest need a rocket up them. We are not far off the pace- every game could have gone either way but there is a pattern emerging which can not be allowed to continue in this tight league.

Off the field what MG has achieved and his future ambitions are very impressive. Perhaps he would be better concentrating on the multitude of off the field stuff, which he perhaps underestimated and bringing in a full time manager?

MG has many talents but more than anything he comes across as a nice bloke- perhaps too nice when it comes to dealing with failing contracted players? He needs to bring someone in to shake things up either as a manager or coach. Perhaps Liam Daish?

For me the dream combination would be Adrian Pennock assisted by Phil Handford and Barry Ashby. They would ensure that we were fully fit, organised and aware of the oppositions strengths and weaknesses. Players on contract would not be allowed to coast or fake injury like we had last season. I know it seems early in the season to talk about this but we can't have attendances falling below 450 with doom and gloom setting in.

MG in his interview talks of 2 or 3 in and 2 or 3 out on loan.....the real important bit is the quality of those coming in....not just like for like...we will see but......

At this stage of the season what are the chances of not only finding 2 or 3 better players, but of getting them to join an (almost) bottom of the table team like Welling? If changes are made, and they certainly should be, it will take another few matches for the new, new, team to gel. I'd suggest a few more training sessions this week might give us a better chance over the coming weekend.

We,  as supporters,  also need to accept that this season looks unlikely to be as we had hoped. But we need to get behind the team to ensure that we, at the very least, remain in the Conference South.

I wonder whether the two or three players MG wants to bring in will be on loan to us? The only problem with that is whether their clubs let them play for us in the FA Cup. I see Jonte Smith has gone on loan to Cray Wanderers who won convincingly in the Cup yesterday - presumably he played for them which would render him cup-tied for us?

He did n't play for them yesterday.

If we were to bring in loanees I'd hope it is a long term loan. It's not worth the disruption of short terms.

On the balance of play we didn't deserve to lose on Saturday - hit the woodwork twice and their keeper made a couple of decent saves (as did ours). Right that's the positive bit out of the way.......

How can teams hit 50, 60 yard diagonal passes against us and the recipients of said passes have so much time and space to get the ball under control and do something with it. The back four doesn't seem to work as a unit and the same player giving away a ridiculous penalty in the second successive home game for another stupid challenge just beggars belief. Also the skipper is a brick ****house....high time he started playing like one.

The midfield lacks everything - organisation, creativity, pace, awareness. I liked Waldren in the first couple of games but the more he tried on Saturday the worse he got! Perhaps PJD (if he stays fit long enough...) and Sprague would add a different dimension to the team but you can have as many forwards as you like in the squad it will make little or no difference if you cannot supply them with any chances.

Aside from Walker who at least looks like he carries a threat the other strikers don't inspire me at all - they might be better than last year's collection but that is not exactly a compliment. Yes they have been devoid of service but one goal in three home games doesn't suggest that they are very potent. In the defence of Devyne and Walker they played in so many different positions on Saturday that they were probably confused as to what they should be doing?!

Now we have to point some of the blame, in my opinion, at the management team. MG has won this division as a manager two seasons ago so should know what it takes to put a decent team/squad together so either has selected too many duffers or the players are letting him (and us) down or, more likely,  a combination of the two?? We have a highly respected head coach of some pedigree who should be putting together a better unit than this. And lest we forget the "sports scientist" (which i assume is the posh name for a fitness coach)...what exactly has he been doing for the last seven weeks...?! There seemed to be an air of panic in the second half from the sidelines - more peculiar substitutions and more formations on the field than the f****** Red Arrows....

At he moment a lot of positive steps being taken off the pitch but, sadly, a few backwards ones on it.
