As I said. Mistakes were obviously made and that happens at all clubs. I am not defending some of the players that were given contracts. I am just saying. The work that was done on the training ground to complete the great escape after the Jody brown fiasco deserved more. At times the players let everyone down but the current squad is not a patch on what was there back then. Unfortunately what is done is done but some of those players on Saturday don't deserve to be playing Ryman standard. As we're the players that were brought in by Ashby and Co...You cannot tell me that adil useless should have been keeping kabba out and why get rid of all the experience in players like Wellard who for those that care is now dominating every game I have heard from. He ran the show against Margate two weeks back

Sussed it now.....you are Matt Mcentegart and I claim my 5 pounds!
Ha ha. No afraid not. I just like attending non league football. I know a few guys from various clubs and still get down to Welling now and again. As I said I don't want the club to struggle and good luck to you all for the rest of the season.
What I can't understand is why it's going so wrong from a training perspective? We have some very experienced and qualified great coaches, but the players look like they're being coached by my 9 year old.

He wasn't even a regular starter for Faz and co. Of all the players let go, I don't know why he is the one you are championing.
Re training - the hours spent on the training pitch are we know less than last season, but players should still have known what their role on the pitch was supposed to be. I don't think much time is spent on tactics from what I've seen so far.
Re fitness - a lot of fitness at this level is down to the individual players, how many of them go to the gym, in their own time, and how many rely on the reduced training sessions. I don't think the general fitness levels are up to the required standard. Also it's a fact that knocks and bruises always seem to be worse when the general morale is low. When a team is wining, players will fight hard to keep their place, and ignore the odd knock.
Re motivation - we've all seen instances where the motivational words from the manager have raised the players game. It doesn't need to be the Alex Furgusion type rant, but the right words at the right time to get the team to gel, work for each other and show some desire. As been mentioned before, sending the team out early for the 2nd half suggests a lack of motivational words from the management team. When the team are out, where is the huddle, the captain going round geeing up players who need it, and being the leader on the pitch.
Re playing the game - this season, more than last, it's essential that the players react to the ref and "play" him as well. It's not part of the game I like but it's a fact that the officials at this level are not as skilled and so can be influenced with care. I don't believe the Welling team have any idea of the tricks of this slightly dark side of the game.
So put all that together, if I'm right, and it's not surprising that we are where we sit at the bottom of the league. What needs to happen, I'd suggest, is to concentrate on what happens on the pitch, not off it. Instil that fight in the team we enjoyed watching a couple of seasons ago, and win at least the next 2 matches, but I'm not the Manager so what do I know!
like others really saddened by this. Dan walker seems to care about it and Lewington but the others dont communicate with their team mates and get overrun in the midfield far to easily. We struggle to build from possession and do not have enough creativity. Slabber is well past it and cant see how he will put the ball in the net. This league is ripe for a player like Kabba-where is he now? and I aggree with others the best of last year should have been retained. We were very defensive and players like Chambers and Lokko would have given the rest of the team the stability. I dont think MG is a manager and he must realise that now. Its all a bit of here we are again-shame really!

Where is Kabba......on someone's treatment table I expect
The fact that he won this division as a manager less than two seasons suggests otherwise although, taking this into account, I am mystified as to how he thinks that some of his recruits are National South level.
Yes Wingnut it would but perhaps completely changing a team needs an experienced football man. He is starting from scratch but without the experience of others to do it. He has done really well for Bromley that isnt in doubt but you are only as good as your last fight and we dont look like scoring or having a clue as to how to get back in a game when we go down.
Kabba is at Wealdstone but not been used properly and being played out on the wing.
In my opinion MG should have tried harder keeping players from last year. Think how many have now gone to levels lower. Eg Chambers and Daniel now at Dulwich are both better than the rubbish there now and there are players currently on the books that are on much more than those two are. Yes he might not have been able to stop the likes o lokko. Porter etc but could have kept some. Joey Taylor is now the clubs longest serving player and even he is out on loan which is embarrassing because a) he should begin the side and b) going to truro with not a full quota of subs

PB is on holiday in Thailand. I'd be surprised if he would be doing this from there.
Whilst people are mentioning the "Three Amigos" it's worth remembering that we have the exact same management setup now yet all the blame seems to be being laid at Mark Goldbergs' feet. We should be asking what Harry Wheeler as Head Coach has got the players doing during the training sessions and also what Damian Mathews input is on the training ground and what his input was in the signings made for this season.
Secondly as the fitness of the squad doesn't appear to be improving, are two training sessions enough? Do the training sessions need to be longer and/or if possible do we revert to three training sessions?
Our general fitness and play seem sloppy, no leaders on the pitch, a lack of communication between the players , and very little direction from the bench. Everything needs to be ramped up ,more intensity in training and a better warm up pre match and half time might shake the players from a disaster waiting to happen.
I thought Della-Verde & Dan Walker played well. We seem to be fixated on wide players, but need a better right full back and central midfield. Jamie Slabber hasn't offered much up front. I thought Luke Saggers did quite well at the tail end of last season.
