Game of two halves. We had the better of the 1st. They had the 2nd. I don't think Lewington made a save all game. Cracking cross by Archie that led to the goal. Have to say we were lucky to take all the points but we ground out the result. Also once again we lost our way in the 2nd half. Why this keeps happening is a mystery but needs to stop. Nannetti was my MOM. Well don lads

First half, slope for us...... Second half.... slope for them

There's your reason.

Enjoy the result, but 2nd half as a whole was not good enough. Second to every ball, reverted back to punting it long and to nobody and looked unfit again. A better team would of beaten us. Heard MG say "we didn't want to go hung Ho in the 2nd half and get caught out" but sitting back getting battered for 44mins is hardly better and if it wasn't for a huge slice of luck his words or our opinion of them would be a whole lot different.

The slope did play a big part in it but the defence did very well in the second half and they only had two goal attempts. There was no defensive howler which have featured recently. The team has had very little luck in recent weeks so I can't begrudge getting some yesterday.

Blimey...a win and not a lot to moan about really!

A good first half with some fluidity in the formation. At times is looked like 4-4-1-1 and other times a bit of 4-2-3-1 but LDV, Nanetti and PJD were certainly moving around well and causing problems. However we do need Coombes to stay in the middle when he is the main striker and stop drifting out to the left as he is prone to do. We could/should have probably been a couple in front at half time.

Still need to change the half time tea as it is clearly drugged and affects our play in the second half! However I disagree completely that we were "battered" in the second half. We might have conceded (too much) territory and possession but they clipped the top of the bar with a free kick and only had one shot past the past that i can recall. We were far more on top of them first half than they were on top of us in he second half. Despite a number of long throws and set plays we defended those well and eliminated the mistakes. Quite why a team who were not particularly big kept launching high balls towards our area I have no idea but our defence dealt with them well.

Hopefully after a few more training sessions Daisy can get them working better as a unit throughout the team. I think we should give some credit to MG for making the coaching change as well and being proactive on and off the pitch.

Up the Wings!
